I just found out about this little soirée of a fest yesterday, so I’m super happy that I had time to put together a piece for it! Thanks for letting me join in on the fun.

Patrick heard the jingle of the bell above the door and sighed. He looked down at himself, covered in black and white, oversized cashmere and figured he deserved this humiliation. It had never occurred to him that he would have needed to bring not one but two spare shirts to the motel the previous evening. He then chuckled at the memory of why his shirts had been ruined and wondered for the tenth time that morning where David had managed to find a turn of the century Absinthe fountain on a day’s notice.
Resigned to his fate of being seen wearing David’s clothes in front of customers, Patrick shoved aside the curtain to the stock room and stepped out onto the floor. He then immediately spun on his heel and attempted to go straight back behind the curtain once more.
“Not so fast!”
Patrick put his hands on his hips and turned back ‘round to find Alexis and Stevie staring at him, wide-eyed, and smiling with too many teeth. They looked like a pair of shiny-haired sharks. Patrick pressed his lips together and braced himself.
“Oooo, Patrick! You look . . . like a little toadstool! A baby fuzzy bean pod!” Alexis exclaimed, bangles jangling as she clapped her hands with joy.
“Totally,” Stevie said, nodding. “That’s what I was thinking.” Her hair fell into her face as she dug in her bag for something.
“Right!” Alexis slapped her on the arm. “So precious!”
Stevie emerged from the depths of her messenger bag with her phone and she shamelessly aimed it at Patrick. He heard the sound of the click despite her suppressed laughter. “Precious. Yup.”
“Oh my god. Oh my god. Patrick. Please tell me David has seen you in this?”
Patrick cleared his throat. “He. Uh, actually—”
“Oh my god! He dressed you!” Alexis did a little hop on her heels. Stevie snapped another pic.
“Could you not?” Patrick asked, gesturing to Stevie’s phone.
She looked up at him, her face void of all emotion. “What? I wasn’t taking your photo.”
Patrick sighed. Where the hell was David?
In all the excitement yesterday I forgot to post my wedding art for @open-fic-night
