MY TOPIC... mental illness/psychology
My topic is pretty straightforward, but to go more in depth; I would like to learn more about mental illnesses and their capabilities and possibly document how adolescents struggle to live normal lives throughout their childhood. For the psychology aspect of it, I would like to learn more about the mental functions and behaviors of individuals who do not have mental illnesses.
These topics interest me because I have loved ones who unfortunately have to suffer from mental illnesses. I've noticed their struggles to "fit in" and even perform daily tasks. I've also noticed their struggle to find doctors who can treat them.
These two topics are things I'm really passionate about because I wish to be a psychiatrist in the near future. So I'm convinced that learning about these topics will enrich my life as well for others. The only way to diminish the ignorance is if we educate those around us about people who suffer from mental illnesses.
I need to educate myself more about psychology and about the human anatomy. I want to indulge myself in books of research this spring semester.
If I read a lot about my topics, that can be a start. I want to bring social awareness to my topics as well. I have the idea of documenting a young individual who deals with a disability. I want others to look past their ignorance and learn to accept certain individuals.
I need a good camera and a unique individual. I will also need loads of books for myself.
As of now, I would like to document this all on this blog. It only makes sense to do so.
This is all I can think of at the moment... I have so much I would like to do right away, but it will take some time.
I would like to thank you if you've taken the time to read this excerpt.
