Larissa Florent has taken the History class and turned it on its head. In a good way! The once boring drull of lecture has been replaced with the excited giggles of mixed theatre and storytelling. Larissa usually does away with desks, her room instead changes from time to time to suite her lesson, sometimes a bonfire and sometimes just comfy cushions for the students to sit in while she enthralls them with history. Because history is just life that has passed before their time, it’s exciting, it was things that happened to real individuals and people lived it. To her there should be no excuse why history is boring. Every once in a while she’ll even have students perform certain historical events, and tries to make sure every students gets a chance to perform. Her homework involves having students memorize lines for these enactments and at other times asking the students to come up with and write down a short story of their own set in a certain time period, or try to get into the head of a historical figure. She’s an emotionally intelligent person and tries to expand that in her students.
