Paul was a proud Hatchetfield citizen. He liked his home and had never wanted to leave. Though with that in mind, he wasn't really one to participate in the big local events. He liked the Hatchetfield honey festival as a principle, so he would visit the stalls at the market for a few minutes, though he found the crowds overbearing and thought that the Honey Queen thing they did every year was a bit crass. However much he liked everyone's town spirit, he could appreciate it from a distance. So, perhaps foolishly, after half a beer with colleagues after work, a slightly tipsy Paul had wondered into the edge of the Witchwood to watch the fireworks from a quiet space.
But now in the dark evening, he was back in the public area, staggering and looking slightly pale.
"That couldn't have been real..." He muttered to himself, "Get a grip, Paul..."
Perhaps he had seen something he shouldn't.
