Bio: Opal is Irene’s little sister who has both beauty and brains, mostly brains. During her childhood, she spends her time reading books and studying avians in hopes of becoming an ornithologist later on. However, she’s shown to be shy and unsure of herself as she’s had been talked down by people on the other side of Philly. After getting help from her sister and a few of the troupes, she’s able to boost up her confidence.

After surviving the massacre, Opal went on to support her big sister’s soul search and become a member of “Sky Candy.”

Relationships

Irene

Irene is Opal’s big sister who she idolizes since childhood. At first she didn’t seem to mind Irene during infancy, but while out with the family one day she chases after a butterfly near a raging river. Irene catches her at the last second and ever since then, she keeps close tabs on her in case anyone (business or not) tries to hurt her. She does eventually give her boundaries after intervening with her rivals.

Dr. Quack

Just like with her sister, Opal thinks very highly of Dr. Quack. She first met the duck doctor during a trip to the local library to return some books. After dropping the books off, she spotted him at the indoor cafe reading an article on how to be more professional at work. When he looked up, he asked her if she was the same person that drew an accurate portrait of him from a summer art contest. Opal smiled and said it was to help raise awareness for anthro avians. Amazed by her diligence and fondness for birds, he asks her if she wants to get to know him more, which Opal accepts.

Rahune

Rahune is one of Opal’s closest friends as they share a “red oni, blue oni” dynamic. At first, Opal saw her as a weird energetic monkey archetype, thinking if she wanted to be her first friend. When Rahune saw her reading one of her books, she began to understand Opal’s struggles and makes sure she doesn’t go it alone when making friends. When the two are together, they can be either with Fuyuko and Marcella, planning special events or studying.

Mindy

Although they share different opinions, Opal considers Mindy as a friend and an example of the world’s next novelist. While out in a shady area of Wellington, Opal finds Mindy reading some of her yaoi fanfics. Upon seeing the young girl, Mindy panics and hid herself in a belfry where she couldn’t be found. She eventually changes her tune as she saw her with socializing Rahune and Gammarie. Mindy would sometimes come and visit Opal when she needs help writing new but classy material.

Facts about Opal

She’s around the same height as Fuyuko, but is about two inches short and she weights around 123 pounds due to her yoga sessions and low calorie diet.

Her favorite color is mint.

She was born in the same place as her sister.

She began reading books at the age of 2, just a couple months after her birthday.

Her hobbies are reading, writing, stargazing, yoga and cooking Japanese cuisine.

Is a sucker for tuxedos/suits as well as small and adorable things (fun-sized robots, babies, (of any species, including human) traffic signs, (like the ones in Japan) weapons, etc)

Her favorite birds are mallards, fruit doves, dickcissels and swans.

Is a pro at gin rummy.

(During a hotel scene on the Antigua trip) Opal: (checks her phone) Ugh, more voicemails. You know what? Eff this freaking phone, I’M ON VACATION!!
