Just finished rewatching Alabasta and now that I paid more attention to Crocodile I have 2 thoughts/theories
1) a BIG ideal for Crocodile is that he does not trust anyone. I am certain he will betray the cross guild before the end of the series.
2) it's possible the trust thing has to do with Ivankov/dragon/the revolutionary army. Could be because of the trans theory that floats around. But I think it has more to do with his past being similar to Kaido & being used as a political tool. He was hellbent on finding Pluton to destroy an island & I don't think he's the type to just use it willy nilly. He schemes & plans for YEARS. I think he knows more about Mary Geoise than we know and he could potentially be using it against the celestial dragons
Also, is Pluton the weapon that Imu used against Lulusia? It kind of seems like it in hindsight.
I know I'm not the first one to talk about it but holy fuck episode 126 is so good!! I've seen it 5+ times and every time I get chills. Vivi, broken from watching someone she cherishes die begins to fruitlessly yell from atop the clocktower to please end the fighting, Luffy snapping Crocodiles hook off, the fucking orchestra rolling in as Luffy punches through Desert La Sparda, the rain finally falling & everyone hearing Vivi's plea. Everything about this episode is SO spectacular and invokes such an intense & profound feeling. And don't even get me started on the symbolism of how Luffy defeated crocodile because that's just as beautiful. God I love One Piece
