Optimism slid as much as 10% in the week leading up to a scheduled token unlock that will see 24 million OP tokens released onto the market.

The Optimism Network has revealed that it will sell 116 million OP tokens in a series of planned sales.

Although the crypto market on the whole witnessed some turbulence, the same couldn’t be said about OP tokens. This was because OP emerged as a standout performer, gaining 42% in the past month. The protocol’s growth can thus, be attributed to the Base Chain’s growth.

The Optimism network witnessed some growth over the last 30 days, however, OP failed to share the enthusiasm of the network. Additionally, OP’s current state would need more than just investor confidence to step out of its slumber.

The Optimism protocol had a week full of noteworthy developments. However, it would take a while for OP to follow the sentiment as it still traded significantly lower than its price action seven days ago.
