“Do we gotta do the picture day?”
Lila isn’t even looking at him as she answers, “yes,” and then goes back to searching his closet for clothes.
Five frowns. “I don’t like picture day.” He sits on the edge of his bed, kicking his feet up and down. “I don’t wanna do it.”
“Your brothers and sister like to hang up the photos.”
Five scowls. “Don’t care.”
For a moment, Lila pauses, then sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose. “Diego!” Her husband is quick to answer, quicker to stand at the doorway, looking panicked. He relaxes when it looks like Five has not accidentally electrocuted himself for the seventh time this week. “Make your son like picture day.” She gestures to Five, who scowls at Diego, baring his teeth, growling.
“I hate picture day,” he repeats, standing up on his bed, “and if you make me like it, I’ll hate you too. And I’ll stab you with a fork.”
“Not even if you can be an Astronaut?”
Five looks skeptical, then intrigued. “An astronaut?” He says, head tilted. “I can be that for picture day? Nothing like those boring dumb stuffy ones that the old man made us do?”
“None of that,” Diego reassures, “we’re doing a space theme. You like space, yeah?”
“I like space,” Five repeats, jumping off the bed, “okay then, it’s settled.”
“Settled?” Lila raised a brow, blinking as Five walked up to her and held up a hand. “What’s settled?”
“I’ll do picture day!”
“Oh, thank god.”
“On one condition.”
“…..this better be affordable, you asshole.”
Five blinks, then grins, and throws his arms in the air. “Take me to a Planetarium!”
With this unknown gem who is apparently like a mother figure to Spinel like you said, will she be overly-protective of Spinel? Will this unknown gem give her daughter pats on the head? Because that would be adorable.
Haha, that would be adorable!! However, their dynamic is a little bit more serious than that ^^
Spinel will be working for this gem, so their relationship is going to be a bit more like if your mother was your boss XDDD She will be pretty protective of Spinel, always wanting the best for her and keeping an eye out for her. However, in dangerous situations, it'd be more like Spinel being the protective one!! (After all, Spinel would hate to lose another friend like Pink...)
Also just because you mentioned it, I feel like I should have a scene where Spinel gets a headpat. Maybe I'll just do this as a separate drawing tho XDDD (but maybe she'll get one in the future from the other friend she's about to meet...? Oops.)
