Y/N opened his eyes to darkness. Panic surged through him, but he quickly noticed the sharp scent of antiseptic mixed with oil and concrete. He was lying on a cold, hard surface. As his senses sharpened, he felt the tightness around his legs—duct tape. He squirmed slightly, trying to remember how he got here, but the memories were hazy and distorted.

Suddenly, a door creaked open, and he heard footsteps. The light streamed in, illuminating the figure standing before him—a tall man with a cool, calculating expression. Dexter Morgan. The infamous Miami blood spatter analyst who, as Y/N soon learned, had a far darker side.

With a chilling smile, Dexter approached, his brown eyes scanning Y/N with an unsettling curiosity. “We don't want you getting too comfortable, do we?” he said, almost cheerfully, before turning to leave the room. Just like that, he left Y/N alone to contemplate his grim fate.

“Fuck,” Y/N whispered, not believing he was in this situation. As the thoughts began to swirl in his head, he tugged and twisted against the bindings, feeling the tape constricting around his legs grow tighter with each movement.

“Jesus,” he muttered softly, recalling how his grandmother would struggle with wrapping Christmas presents. “Don’t let this guy wrap Christmas presents.”

He attempted to reposition himself, but as he awkwardly scratched at an itch, the tape pulled against his skin, causing him to let out a louder, frustrated, “FUCK!”

Suddenly, Dexter’s voice echoed back from somewhere off in the distance—“Fuck, fuck, fuck!”

Y/N couldn’t help but let out a weak chuckle. "You gonna say it like that when I’m in you?" he teased, fully aware that dark comedy might be his only defense mechanism right now.

Panic flickered in Dexter's eyes for just a moment—an odd glimmer of annoyance peppered with intrigue. “You’d be surprised,” he answered before quieting down, as though considering the implications of his reply.

Y/N took that moment to gather his thoughts. He was still alive, and if he was going to die, he’d be damned if he didn’t at least try to get out of this situation. With a surge of determination, he began to pull harder against the tape, twisting and turning desperately.

The tape was starting to peel, and just as he started to feel hope, the door creaked open again. Dexter walked back in, holding a sizeable knife, and an unexpected sense of calm washed over him.

“What’s going on in here?” he asked, raising an eyebrow, clearly amused by Y/N’s struggle. “You really think you can get out?”

“Watch me,” Y/N shot back defiantly, still writhing but now with a plan—if he could distract Dexter long enough, maybe he could work his legs free.

The bond between predator and prey was tangible as Dexter stepped closer, curiosity piquing. “You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that,” he said, tilting his head, almost in admiration. “Most people don’t talk back when their lives are at stake.”

“Maybe I just enjoy it when you talk dirty,” Y/N quipped, a smile creeping onto his face, even in the face of death.

With a smirk, Dexter crouched down, knife glinting in the dim light. “You really think you’re going to make this easy for me, don’t you?”

And just like that, Y/N seized the opportunity. With one final forceful twist, he tore through the last of the tape binding his ankles. The sudden freedom sent him tumbling forward as he attempted to stand, his legs still wobbly beneath him.

“Shit!” Dexter exclaimed, surprise clearly written on his face.

Y/N bolted towards the door, pain shooting up his legs, but adrenaline propelled him onward. He could hear Dexter’s footsteps pounding behind him, but Y/N was fueled by the desire to live. With one last burst of energy, he launched himself through the door and down the dimly lit corridor of the warehouse.

“Fuck!” Dexter shouted, realizing the sudden turn of events.

Once outside, Y/N didn’t dare look back, sprinting into the night, determination coursing through him. He didn’t know if he would escape fully, but he’d fight with every breath in his body.

And somewhere, in the shadows of the warehouse, Dexter took a breath, unable to shake the new-found admiration he had for his escaped game—not as a victim but as someone who dared to challenge him.

With newfound intent, he whispered to himself, “This isn’t over.”
