the castle walls were rumbling as the dragon let out a mighty roar.

but even though the structure of the very room they were in was shaking, the king didn´t even react to it. the residents did. but only as far as to rush to their king´s side as the roar rang out.

as soon as the noise was over and the castle was still standing strong, the king took the word again.

“now, after you´ve heard all those tales, I am quite certain you are itching to hear another one. servants, go and bring me-“ but king Alistair was cut off as a loud crash rang out from another room. “oh!! your highness! the noise sounded like it came from downstairs!!” one of his servants said with urgency, causing the other residents to squeak and chatter in distress, before the king rose both his arms, silencing them. “I will handle this situation.“ he announced. “you stay here with our guest, while I go investigate.“

but the rats were concerned “b-but, your highness! we can´t let you go alone! you need to take us with you!!” they urged.

king Alistair hesitated, but eventually nodded before turning towards Ceb. “there are important matters your king has to attend to..it will not take long.” he said, spoken in a voice of authority with a certain air of arrogance to it. “wait right here for my return..and don´t think about running off adventuring in my castle, or there might be dire consequences waiting for you..“ he glared at the brunette as he said that, while the rat servants giggled and squeaked, repeating “dire dire!! yes!” “torn to shreds!!” “traitors feast!!”

the monarch then smiled, his robe fluttering behind him as he turned on his heel and left the throne room through a large, heavy door. a door that took a bit before slowly swinging closed.
