Ok, so this is addressing some thoughts I have regarding something S2 Episode 6 (and just in S2 in general).
I didnāt like the reveal that apparently since S1 Ep 4 (or maybe even before) that Angel Dust has been Voxās unwilling spy. Like, why was this done? Vox turning Angel into a spy/pawn at the end of the episode still couldāve happened, we didnāt need this plot point to make the rest of the season work! And if Vox DID need a spy so badly, wellā¦
Baxterās RIGHT THERE.
The man works for Vox, he came to the hotel not because he believes in redemption, but instead he says he wants to study it and see if it can happen (he does not think it can). Guyās just been in the background chilling with Niffty or in his lab. He was IN THE SCENE WHERE VAGGIE MENTIONS GOING TO TALK WITH LUCIFER! Sure, itās obvious, but I argue it works better than using Angel.
Or, hereās an idea, use CRYMINI.
Specifically, use her as VELVETTEāS spy and use Baxter as a red herring.
Velvette isnāt exactly as relevant to the plot of HH as either Vox or Valentino. When she isnāt being part of an ensemble, she doesnāt get much. In S1, all she really gets is attending the Overlord meeting where she sings āRespectlessā in an attempt to convince the other Overlords to take up arms against Heaven and confront Carmilla with the angelās decapitated head.
Vox has his rivalry with Alastor and just⦠everything else thatās happening so far in S2. Val stays relevant through his connection with Angel as the owner of his soul, and as such is the personal villain in one of the main castās stories. But what does Velvette really get of her own that gives her the same relevancy?
So in the spirit of giving her something, let Crymini be the plot twist spy despite Baxter being the most seemingly obvious choice. Maybe Velvette owns her soul, or perhaps sheās just in her employ, which may as well be a soul contract from how trapped it makes her. Crymini would apparently be the youngest of the cast, show how sheās exploited and how social media/social media companies negatively affect the lives of young girls/women through Velvette. It will also gives us more obvious examples of just how awful Velvette is, just in different ways than Vox and Val.
Honestly, unless somethingās done in the last two episodes of S2 or in S3, Velvette seems like a character with lost potential. Which sucks, because I thoroughly enjoy Velvette, sheās fun to watch. I really kind of wish that her apology to Carmilla had been done on her own, Iām sure Velvette has a more than perfect persona to come across as convincing. And if not, Iām sure she could have indicated herself that Carmillaās daughters were at risk, really bring back that conflict where Velvet WINS this time.
Thereās a lot of interesting things you could do with Velvette, but unless brought back in for ensuing seasons, it seems unlikely anything will be done. You know, if nothing is done this season.
