even tho most of our “taylor inevitably is informed of benston” ideas are like, pre- the breakup / breakup scare associated with the “they start dating sometime in s4″ idea, there Is the gorgeous and vivid concept of like, it’s that period where winston thinks the breakup is essentially already upon him but hasn’t heard from ben yet but is expecting that when he does it’ll just be to make the breakup official, and he is staying late and focusing a lot on Work b/c he hates going home and just running in mental circles about the matter / feeling on edge waiting for a call or text (and on edge about Not getting a call or text b/c the idea of just never hearing from ben again at all is also a nightmare) without distraction and he hardly has the option of just @ing someone like hey let’s go do something, Friend I Totally Have.......so the burnout is not as severe as it would be in the “yes they officially break up and winston works himself to exhaustion” scenario but it’s still a factor and taylor metaphorically stumbles across him staying late one night and is like “?? what’s this about” and winston kind of considers it for a second but it’s just him and taylor and they’ve always had that Good Direct Communication and also he’s tired in multiple ways and kind of wants to get this off his shoulders to someone and if taylor wants to be mad at him about it they might as well get it out of the way while he’s already worried and feeling Not Great.........so yeah taylor’s just passing through like “uh, so what’s up here” and winston is like “...........you worked with ben kim so you remember him right? yeah so for months now i was dating him and [proceeds to flatly give the bullet points of The Situation]” and there’s just the very clear idea of taylor like, maybe about to say something, pausing, going on a brief face journey as they mentally run through the past few months and recalibrate with the new information, then pulling up a chair and slowly sitting down,
