OnS Theories (19S). First Theory - Demon Mikaela and Mikaela Hyakuya. Are they the same being or different beigns?
Hello everyone, a month ago some friends from discord made a question whenever Mika and demon Mika were the same due to their physical aspect and the sort, therefore, I’d like to talk about that within this theory, therefore, let’s begin!
P.S: Theories are held within a neutral view and ships are excluded

One of the biggest things that had many readers intrigued was the fact that Mikaela, after dying as a vampire, became a demon with a child like apperance:

Along this, as I stated in former theories, the reason why Mika has a child appearance is due to how his desires where on its peak back when he was a child around 8-10 years old which is something stated in the Catastrophe LNs.
But retaking the main topic of this theory, are demon Mika and Mikaela Hyakuya a different being?
The answer to this is a big no.
But why, how can I state this?
The reason goes to a previous theory which I titled it as Mikaela’s samsara, and this is due to the fact that Mika’s pain has been so much that his soul wished to separate his memories in order to create a demon persona or something more common to call an alter ego; within this, it’d mean that Mika would forget who he was and what he used to do before becoming a demon, with the exception that his soul would fulfill what it dreamed without directly affecting Mika, but of course, the big difference between Mika and demon Mikaela is mostly physical appearance.

But as I stated before, how can I state this? How can I proof they’re the same being despite the absence of memories?
Easy, because there’s proof.Â
If you guys might recall, Mika’s main task was protecting everyone, which is something very well reflected to back when he was a child, back when he had hope, even now, despite him becoming a demon, those small aspects didn’t change:
Let’s compare:

While the time on which those statements were different, Mikaela’s main thoughts were of protecting, he aimed to do or take risks if it meant protecting what it was dear to him; back in chapter 1, he didn’t mind giving his life away if it meant to see a survivor in the whole massacre Ferid Bathory performed; alas for chapter 98, after he became a demon, despite the lack of memories he had, his soul managed to create a whole dreamworld, a samsara on which his kid self without any memories that demons, vampires or human experimentation existed, until the memories that were buried deep within him popped but, nevertheless, within the first panels, Mika didn’t hesitate on throwing his life if it meant keeping his family safe, he would play the role of the bait in order to give time to his family to flee.
Another proof is the fact that Mika used to do despite not being a good trait was the fact that he underestimated his enemies, while it’s something not so good to recall, it’s something that he alone had and in fact it relies due to him getting used to his life as a vampire that he was able to detect stuff in slow motion, same for his case as a demon, he aimed to fight since he had confidence on his power:

Comparison with following panel:

Mikaela aimed to fight anything even if he was against all odds due to a confidence he had, and as it is known, confidence itself is not bad, in fact, it’s something humans tend to have in order to keep pushing against all odds; but of course, in Mika’s case, that confidence turned into overconfidence but nevertheless, it’s something the one that lived as a human, vampire and demon didn’t change.
But the biggest proof that they’re the same is this: (WARNING: Sad memories coming up)

No matter the condition Mikaela is set to live, he always punished himself due to the actions that marked his past, he blames himself for what happened in the real world, he couldn’t overcome the grudge nor he couldn’t move on from those events to grown mentally strong

Even before he accepted to become a real demon, while he struggled within the dream world to accept it as a new reality, he was aware of the things that surrounded him, he was aware that it was a beautiful dream he held dear despite all the things that happened, it was a mere simple dream that held beauty to his heart but despite that, the events that were buried deep within his heart made him realize it was just that, a dream, and in reality, he couldn’t protect what he held dear.
Mika did have a will to fight but despite the end goal he set which was to protect Yu, ultimately, he couldn’t bear all the pain that was carried for so long, even until his last breath as a vampire, he couldn’t acknowledge himself as someone worth it.

At the end, what could it be concluded?
Despite of the memory loss the demon Mikaela has, his soul still remembers all the events that happened back in the past, his soul still feels that pain he couldn’t overcome, and the fact that Asuramaru settled a space on which he’d kill his family again, it only lead to the demon Mikaela break up in tears:

Despite how gruesome this is, I’m very aware the theory itself is painful, I really had a hard time writing it.
The fact that Mika became a child again as a demon, doesn’t mean his will, emotions, actions and thoughts are different, he still has that essence what made him be Mikaela Shindo/Hyakuya.
What do you think dear readers?
