The Fairmount Water Rescue team responds to a capsized boat near Bridgeport, PA. Back in mid-August, fire officials from Norristown Fire Department and other local municipalities righted capsized boat in the Schuylkill River, the day after a torrential downpour that freed a barge and sent boats rushing down the river. Officials responded as if there were individuals aboard, but the boat was uninhabited and no injuries were reported.

My friend Tim was asked for school to do a project revolving around sports, so he decided to film and interview me regarding my job as a newspaper reporter. I'm totally awkward and weird and I ramble and stutter and do weird things with my hands, but here I am.

A shooting in Norristown, PA on August 1, 2013 had me wondering what to expect. The police scanner hadn't included many details and since the location of the incident was so close to the office, I just ran over to the spot and started shooting pictures. Without any movement at first, I wasn't sure if I was looking a murder scene, but then it began evident that the man had been shot in the leg and he was just waiting very patiently for the paramedics to arrive. For the paper, I didn't want to use pictures of the man's face, and I'm still sorry for putting homie out there, but I can't help but share. The image of him with the stones stuck to his face has been with me ever since I witnessed it. The bottom middle picture of the four people watching the scene is the one and only I gave to the paper to run, the rest I kept to myself until now.
