oh man okay i think it's probably lucky one. i just had so much fun building that little world and figuring out the whys and hows of it all!

The thing about dying and returning as a ghost only to be brought back to life that no one tells you about, is that it's exhausting. He feels like his very soul is being weighed down by twenty-five years worth of missed sleep. Which, he guesses, makes sense. All that time in the dark room felt like seconds to them. Like he'd just closed his eyes between bouts of bone aching pain, only to open them again in the garage that was his, was theirs, only it wasn't. Not really.

i write most days out of the year! the muse has been fickle this year, though, and i haven't written in a couple days. but! i will still offer you a recently-written snippet of a post-nhie-s3 ben/art ditty at which i've been chipping away:

“Plus,” he says, grabbing a peach out of the bowl on the counter and rolling it gingerly between his palms, “there were plenty of things we didn’t get to try the first time around.”

Devi leans into the marble, eyes alight. “Say more.”

This first one is from my Girl at the Rock Show fic

“Seriously,” Reggie adds. “that or something came up and she can’t attend concerts anymore. Maybe she’s a spy and her cover got blown so she has to lay low for awhile!”

The second one is from the public transit story i've slowly been chipping away at. I have a crazy idea for it that i might have told you about but ultimately want to keep a surprise if i can pull it off.

8. What song would make a great fic (to either write or read)?

Ooo there's so many good songs however!!! there has been a steve harrington stranger things fic in going on in my head based on Growing Sideways by Noah Kahan for the last 3 years. just think the concept of steve getting therapy is good yknow

15. What’s your favorite AU that you’ve written?

i think its gotta be ff!luke. i've been thinking about that whole 'verse a lot recently! my favourite jatp au fics are always going to be the ones where one or neither of them play music but still find each other anyway? and still somehow find their way back to music.

18. If you wrote a sequel to [the lucky one], what would it involve?

oh man! i truly have SO MANY ideas for lucky one sequels! the one i think about actually trying to write the most is some kind of big holiday fic where everyone actually gets to interact, because one of the things i couldn't quite work into the og fic was scenes with all the boys and julie together (other then the end performance, but i dont think that really counts). the fic would probably have to continue the cheesy hallmark movie vibe with both of their families being at the cabin for a big christmas celebration, and luke's been steadily employing half the people in the town to help build an extention to the cabin plus a guest house, but nothing is finished yet and he's stressed out about it (he's also stressed because he's got Plans to propose and nothing is going according to plan), and julie's been acting a little suspicious/quite (its because she's been looking at the properties around lukes and one of them already has a house built on it that needs just a little bit of work and she's thinking of putting in an offer for it so they can turn the cabin into a full time recording studio). there would be a fun little side plot involving reggie, ray, carlos and victoria trying to cook dinner and nearly blowing up the oven, flynn is judging the amount of plain and flannels, and alex is trying to destroy the bunk beds while willie keeps watch 😌

33. If you write chaptered fics, what’s your ideal chapter length to write? Is it different from your ideal chapter length to read?

i honestly have no control over how long a chapter i write is, but i seem to always hit that 6-7k mark which honestly feels like a good length. as for reading, i don't mind! i have no preferences lmoa

👻 What is one WIP you think you may never pick back up?

alas i fear it will be the juke fic where they spend a weekend going on like 10 different dates because they realised they'd been going out for 3 years and never really been an on actual date. which makes me sad because the concept? amazing love it. i just think i've left it so long now that i have no idea what my plan was for it

✏️ Do you write every day?

nope! i kinda go through phases where i'll write everyday for a couple of weeks, and then for the next few months i wont even open a notebook/gdoc. i'm lowkey a little envious of people who manage to write a little everyday

📚 Do you read your own fic?

oh yeah! i tend to reread a newly published fic once the day after just to check for any mistakes and then i wont think about it for a while, then go back to read it which is always fun because i wrote it mostly for me. it has all my favourite characters and tropes in lmao. i recently started rereading my runaway royals fic because i'm tentatively thinking about how to finish it

13. Congratulations, you’ve just finished the WIP you’ve been working on for months! How are you going to celebrate?

honestly i tend to celebrate by hitting post and then just going to bed because i have a bad habit of finishing fics at like 11pm when i have work the next day. but i'll also treat myself to a fun sweet treat or maybe an iced coffee! i gotta get better fic finishing celebratory traditions lmoa

4. is there an au or trope that you haven't written before, but would want to try?

body swap shenanigans are wacky fun! i would write them in an instant given the right idea.

14. is there anything outside of your normal content that you want to write?

want to might be putting it strongly, but i definitely struggle to write slow burn, mainly because i think if two characters are kept apart for too long, the tension is no longer natural and i've lost interest in them being together. so the reason for the slow pacing has to really compel me. as with most things i've mentioned for this game, if i had the right idea for it, i'd jump on writing it.

'people lie' by molly thomason has been on my devi/ben playlist from the beginning and there probably is a really cheeky, tender, achy songfic somewhere inside of if only i were to let it out.
