Japanese food called Broiled Salmon Onigiri is a tasty treat made with grilled salmon wrapped in seasoned sushi rice and nori seaweed. You can eat these treats on the go as a quick snack or as a full meal.
Ingredients: 1 cup sushi rice. 1 1/4 cups water. 2 tablespoons rice vinegar. 1 tablespoon sugar. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 2 nori sheets, cut into strips. 6 ounces broiled salmon, flaked. Soy sauce, for serving.
Instructions: Run cold water over the sushi rice until the water is clear. Using a rice cooker, put the rinsed rice and water in it and follow the directions on the box. Put the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan and mix them together. Slowly heat until the salt and sugar are mixed in. Take it off the heat. After the rice is done, put it in a large bowl and slowly mix in the vinegar mixture. Allow the rice to cool down a bit. Make small triangles or balls out of the rice with wet hands. Lay out a piece of nori on a clean surface. Add a little flaked salmon to the nori, and then put a triangle of rice on top of that. Place the nori over the rice and salmon. If needed, use a little water to seal the edges. Do it again with the rest of the salmon, nori, and rice. Serve the salmon onigiri that has been grilled with soy sauce on the side. Have fun!
