peeks at her from under a table.... / tiny akon perhaps? ♡
Hiyori could have kicked herself when she saw a pair of beady eyes staring at her from a malnourished face. And that shock of black hair… it made him appear even paler than he actually was.
But Akon must have been under that table all along.
All that time she had been writing letters to Hikifune Kirio. Some stupid snotty bits had gotten on the letter and smudged the ink (okay, she had had a private cry) but otherwise it wasn’t like this letter would be read. Hiyori knew this just like all her other letters for the past year had not got replies. But she still couldn’t stop herself writing these letters. Writing, in her terrible chicken-scratch handwriting where all the characters were jumping about as if they’d got electric shocks, how much she missed her. How much she loved her.
But of course, it didn’t make a difference.
She hurriedly folded up the letter and slid it in her kosode before glaring at Akon.
Hiyori hated all these new recruits from the loony bin (A.K.A. the Maggot’s Nest) and Akon was no exception. He mostly kept to himself and did brilliant amounts of work without a single complaint falling from his lips – unlike his superior officers.
Akon cut a lonely, small figure underneath the table and then, she uncharacteristically pushed her bento box towards him.
“Eat,” she muttered, eyes narrowed as she glanced at him. “I don’t need any weaklings in my division.”
