Things that have helped me feel more at home in my body as an adult in a rough semi-chronological sequence:
-realizing FOR REALZIES that I was a bisexual, very queer, and reading any and all queer books I could get my hands on
-sunscreen
-joining a strength sports gym, sweating bullets while pushing the sled, Strongman competitions, gaining competence in my own mechanics
-wearing shoes that didn't fucking hurt
-realizing I wasn't a woman and letting go of that false persona of a fuckable cool girl (TM) that seemed to be my only avenue for sexual gratification in my early 20s
-my undercut and still having so much thick af hair
-trying a binder and then realizing that I prefer sports bras and bralettes
-finally having genetic testing done for cancer risk. Getting the results call that I do not have BRCA or any genetic markers for the cancer that took my mom so fucking early
-having a Paragard IUD installed ❤❤❤
- closing the old bank account opened by parent and opening one that no one else could access
- graduating
-finally getting to dictate my own field workwear
- greek yogurt and protein pancakes
- trail running and rehabbing my ankle
