So, I’ve been thinking. I love writing this story, however, sometimes the inspiration isn’t there and there are times when I have so many ideas, but it just doesn’t fit into the chapter. So I was thinking, instead of you guys waiting months for a new chapter, I was thinking of making one-shots instead. I think it would be much easier and you won’t have to sit through a ton of filler chapters to get to the action, you know? What are you’re guys thoughts?
One Wild Ride-Chapter Twenty
Chapter Twenty
(I hope you all like it. So sorry for the long wait, I had so much trouble with this chapter. I don’t know how I feel about the final outcome, I had to take out a few things. But I hope you are all satisfied)
Deidre groaned as she opened her eyes and slowly sat up in bed, wincing from the pain. As she was trying to regain focus, she realized that she was in a room. It looked to be her own private suit. At that moment it all came flooding back to her.
She recalled talking to Daisy on the phone, her trying to get away from the paparazzi, seeing a car heading straight for her, horrible pain, and then darkness. She touched her face and winched when she felt the bruises on her face. She found that her arms were all right, they were a bit sore though. She slowly moved her blanket away, she shook her head in frustration when she saw a dark black boot on her left foot. She knew she probably sprained it.
She looked around the big room, this was nothing like other hospital rooms, everything looked new, there was a white tiled sink, a big mirror on the side, she knew she could never afford something like this, expect if that person was Harry.
That’s when her eyes grew wide. She had absolutely forgotten about Harry. She had no idea where he was. She had no idea he even knew what predicament she was in.
Deidre didn’t have to wait long. A few minutes passed by before Harry opened the door and walked in. He had expected Deidre to still be unresponsive, just as she had been for the past day and a half. He stood there in shock for a couple of moments, looking at her, taken back that she was sitting up in bed. “You should lay down.” He said as he made his way over to her, trying to pull the blanket back over her.
Deidre mumbled and grumbled as she watched Harry pulling the blanket over her legs. She crossed her arms as Harry tried to make her lay down. “Hey, I’m fine, stop it.” She said as she swatted his hand away.
Harry rolled his eyes, he knew that Deidre was grumpy, so he wasn’t going to push her buttons any further. “You had us worried there for a moment, you’ve been unconscious for the past day and a half.”
“What?!” Deidre looked at the calendar that was hanging next to her bedside. “Oh my god, work...” She was beginning to get worried. She wondered if anyone else knew about her accident, she hoped her boss would be understanding. Deidre never missed a day of work, that wasn’t how she did things.
“Don’t worry about that.” Harry told her. “There’s no way you are in any condition to return to work.”
“No shit sherlock.” Deidre mumbled under her breath and rolled her eyes at him. She sighed, hating the idea that she would have a boot on her for god knows how long. “Wait, where’s my phone? I need to get in touch with Daisy, she was the last one I talked to before...”
“Luckily you’re phone wasn’t too banged up, just has a crack on the screen, but that could easily be replaced.” Harry took her phone out of his pocket and handed it to her. “I did get a hold of her. After all the screaming and crying she did I told her that you would be fine.” Harry smiled.
“Thank you for that. I don’t want to be hassled with millions of phone calls and texts from her.” Deidre chuckled. “What would I do without you?” She said as she touched Harry on the cheek.
Harry just smiled back at her and a few moments later moved closer to her and gave her a peck on the cheek. Deidre pulled away. “How long have you been here?”
“Since you were admitted here. ” Harry told her.
“What?” Deidre noticed how worn out he looked, the bags under his eyes, she could tell he made no effort in his appearance. She wondered if he even left the hospital. “Please tell me you went home once...”
“No, I haven’t, not with the condition you were in.” Harry explained to her.
36 Hours Earlier
Harry arms were at his side, his hands were bunched up in fists, he was so close to exploding with rage . He rushed back into the venue and into the banquet hall. Many guest were still chatting and dancing, oblivious to what had just happened outside. He looked for Edward and rushed over to him. Harry whispered something in his ear. Edward was stunned. “We need to get out of here, we need to take action, there were pictures taken of the accident.” Harry gritted his teeth.
They walked out of the banquet hall and into a waiting car on the other side of the building, luckily there were no paparazzi trying to take pictures of them leaving. After some quick calls, they found the hospital Deidre was being admitted too. Harry was hoping that people would have the decency to not blab to the media. But seeing how there were pictures and police were already on the scene, he knew it wouldn’t be tight lip for long.
Then there was the problem of the pictures, even thinking about it made him want to lose it. He wanted to sue all of their asses, he felt that they were the ones responsible. They had never left him alone and they had always made his life more complicated. It was time like those when he wished he was just a normal guy, with a wonderful, beautiful girlfriend, without anyone interfering with it. But he knew he would never be normal, not now, not ever.
“I want action taken, now!” Harry demanded as they car pulled into a back entrance way. “Those pictures shouldn’t be published.”
“I agree, I’ll get right on it.” Ed told him. The car stopped and Harry got out of the car. He opened the entrance door and rushed up a few flights of stairs, not caring if he left his PO’s behind or the fact he didn’t wait till he got the go a head that the building was secure. That’s not what matter to him at the moment, the person that truly matter was Deidre. He got onto one floor and pressed the elevator button, once the doors open he was rushed in, his PO’s were luckily they even managed to get into the elevator, let alone checking everything first.
“Deidre Paulson” Harry breathed out as he ran to nurses station, trying to catch his breath. He became annoyed when the nurses weren’t paying attention to him. “HELLO!” He yelled out. The nurses quickly looked up from what they were doing, he rolled his eyes when he saw that they were shocked to be in the presence of royalty. Typical. “Can anyone tell me the condition Deidre Paulson is in?” Harry was slowly loosing his patience.
“Let me get a doctor for you.” One young nurse told him, she quickly got up from her chair and ran off.
The other two nurses just looked at him, still in shock that a prince had just walked in. Harry groaned as he ran a hand over his face. After a few minutes he knew that it would be a while, so he found a seat in the waiting room. However, it didn’t calm his nerves. Deidre had to be okay, she just had too. This wasn’t how their relationship was going to end. So many emotions washed over him, he leaned down and put his head in his hands.
An hour had passed by and there was still no word on Deidre’s condition. Charles had managed to get a hold of his son, wondering what had happened. It had leaked that Deidre was involved in an accident and soon rumors started to swirl about it. Some had thought that Harry got hurt as well. Other said it was a drunk driver or someone had pushed her. It was pure chaos. Edward and the press team scrambled to get everything back in order, especially making sure pictures of the accident weren’t released. Charles insisted that he would go and meet Harry at the hospital. “No, you don’t have to do that, It will be a while before we hear anything, it’s already a shit show with all the media camped outside...”
“You need the support! You’re girlfriend was just...” Charles tried to talk some sense into his youngest child. He didn’t want Harry to go through it alone.
“It’s been almost an hour and I still haven’t heard anything. It will be a while before we get any news. It’s best if you just stay where you are.” Harry told his father. He didn’t want more press attention if any of his family arrived. He quickly said goodbye to his father and hanged up the phone. A few moments later he phone rang again, he groaned out in frustration as he answered. “What is it Pa?” He said, thinking it was his father trying to get a hold of him again.
“What?” A voiced cried out from the phone, Harry could tell the person has been crying. “No, this is Daisy...” She said sobbing.
“Oh, yes, hello.” Harry said, he hadn’t seen Daisy in ages, not since the infamous holiday a year or so back.
“I just some news reports on the accident? Do you know what happened? Is she going to be all right? I need to know so I can tell Alisha.”
“Nobody has come out and told me anything yet.” Harry said, still distraught at what had taken place. There was silence for a few moments between the two of them. “Who’s Alisha?” Harry asked, Deidre had only mentioned her a couple of times, but that was it.
“She never told you?” Daisy asked, she was shocked that Deidre wouldn’t tell Harry about the most important person in her life. “That’s very surprising, I thought she would tell you, she told Oliver right away.” She said, cringing when she brought up his name.
Harry rolled his eyes. “No, she didn’t, must have slipped her mind.”
“Well, Alisha is Deidre’s foster mother. She was a mother figure to after her mother died when she was four. Alisha would have adopted her if it wasn’t for Deidre’s bastard of a father.” Daisy snapped, anger was already boiling inside of her when talking about how badly Deidre’s father treated her.
Harry was going to ask more about Deidre’s and her family, However, he became distracted when he saw a doctor walking into the waiting room and making his way over to Harry. “Hello, are you there!?” Daisy’s voiced yelled through the phone, taking Harry out of the moment.
“Um, yes, I’m here, a doctor just showed up! I’ll call you later.” Before Daisy could even respond he hanged up the phone.
“What the hell? You can’t do this to a pregnant women.” Daisy said to herself while looking at her phone. She heard footsteps coming down the stairs, she knew that it was Alex waking up. She had a lot of explaining to do.
Harry got up from his seat as the doctor walked up to him. “How is she?”
“She’s very lucky.” The doctor started out.
Harry blew out a sigh of relief. He felt a huge weight on his shoulders wash away. “Thank god...” He said under his breath.
“She will have a couple of scratches and bruises. She also did sprain her foot, so we were able to put it in a boot, but we suggest that she take it easy for a while. She’s still hasn’t woken up because of the pain medication.” The doctor told him, a smile formed on his face.
“When will she be able to get out of here?” Harry asked. He didn’t care how blunt he was on the subject. He knew that Deidre had a job to get back too, she had to start packing her stuff and move out.
“Not for another day or so, sir. We will look at her condition once she wakes up, if she is well then maybe we will consider her leaving tomorrow night...”
Harry nodded his head. “Well, can I see her?”
“Of course you can. We just placed her in her own private room, just to make it easier on everyone.”
“Thank you.” Harry said. He followed the doctor and Harry’s P.O’s followed close behind. Once they arrived at the room Andy and John walked in to take a quick look around, once everything was clear and safe Harry rushed in. Andy and John waited outside, they knew to give him his privacy, especially with everything that happened.
Deidre was just laying on the bed, unconscious, Harry pulled over a chair and sat down. He was relieved that she was okay, but he knew that it could have turned out horribly. Deep inside him he felt responsible for what had happened to her. It was something that he would never forget. For the rest of the night he just stayed in her room and pulled some strings so he could just stay there with her.
Present Day
“Harry you need to go home, maybe shave and change you’re clothes!” Deidre said in shock. “I’m not going anywhere.”
“Ed already gave me a bag of clothes from home. I’ll just change here, it’s not a big deal. I didn’t want you to wake up alone.” Harry said.
“Well, when can I go home? Did the doctor or nurses say anything?” Deidre looked down at her leg. “I also want to see my X-Rays.”
“Really?” Harry gave her a look of confusion.
“Yes, I want to make sure they didn’t fuck up anything.” Deidre shrugged her shoulders.
“Whatever works for you.” Harry mumbled under his breath. Their conversation was interrupted when a doctor and an nurse walked in. “Well, look who’s here.” Harry smirked.
“Ah, Mrs Paulson, I see that you’re awake. How are you feeling?” He asked as looked at Deidre’s chart.
Deidre looked at him with utter contempt. “How do you think I’m feeling? I feel like I just got hit by a car.” Deidre mumbled something under her breath, but nobody else could hear what she said. Harry let out a snort at Deidre’s sassiness.
“Well, yes, of course.” The doctor said sheepishly. “Let just do a quick check on you and then we can decided what to do from here.” He said.
“What is you’re name anyway?” Deidre asked, folding her arms across her chest. Eyeing him suspiciously.
“The name is Dr. Owen Williamson.” Owen told her as he started to take her vitals.
Deidre looked and studied him for a couple of minutes. Making the entire room feel a bit uncomfortable. “You seem pretty young to be a doctor.” She finally told him. Owen looked to be in his mid twenties, couldn’t be older then Deidre, She thought it was absurd for someone as young as him to be her doctor, no way he managed to get through med school and then get a full time job within a span of a couple of years.
“Well, you look to be a bit young for a doctor yourself.” He told her, not looking up at her. Deidre raised her eyebrows and was confused that he knew that she was one. “Don’t worry, you’re boyfriend wouldn’t stop talking about it.” Owen chuckled softly as he looked back up at her.
“Oh, did he now.” Deidre squinted her eyes at Harry. He just shrugged his shoulders. “I am...”
“What is you’re field?” Owen asked.
“Forensic Anthropology...”
“Very interesting, also, I’m not young.” Owen said as he stopped, getting everything he needed. “I’m in my mid thirties, but everyone think I’m in my twenties.”
“Oh, really?” Deidre said, a bit taken back. “What university did you go too?”
“What is this? Twenty questions with you’re doctor?” Harry blurted out.
“I’m trying to be friendly Harry.” Deidre looked at him.
“I went to the University of Oxford.” Owen replied. He loved how his patient wanted to get to know him more, it made his job more easier.
“Interesting...” Deidre nodded her head.
“Anyway...” Harry butted into the conversation once again. “When can she leave, doc?”
“She does need her rest, that’s for sure. How is the pain?” Owen asked her.
Deidre looked down at her leg and then back up at her doctor. She had been in quiet some pain since she woke up. She didn’t want to say anything in fear that Harry would get worried sick, but she knew it wasn’t good to lie. “I’m in a bit of pain. No surprise there.” She laughed.
“Deidre...” Harry said in a serious tone. He didn’t find it funny and became even more worried. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“There was nothing you could do Harry. You’re obviously not a doctor.” Deidre said as she threw her hands up in frustration. “You got to stop worrying about me all the time, as you can see, I’m here and I’m fine, for the most part.”
Harry grumbled as he sat back down in his seat. There were stuff he wanted to tell her, However, didn’t want to say anything in front of Owen, for privacy.
A few tense moments passed before Owen spoke up. There were still things that needed to be said between the couple in private and he didn’t want to butt in, that wasn’t his job. “Anyway, I can prescribe you something for the pain. However, I think it would be best if you stayed here for another night, you can leave tomorrow morning.”
Deidre groaned in frustration and she slapped her hands on her bed. She was not happy with the news. “Fine, thank you.” Deidre said, she knew there was no way she could get out earlier, she would just have to suck it up.
“Just press the red button if you need anything.” Owen explained to them and the walked out of the room.
“How can I stop worrying about you?!” Harry voice rose in frustration.
“Oh, here we go.” Deidre rolled her eyes. She knew that this conversation would involve some yelling and she wasn’t looking forward to it. “I just said that you should ease on being overbearing. I need some air to breath.”
“Don’t you understand how much I’m tearing myself apart because of you’re situation?!” Harry yelled as he motioned towards Deidre’s bruises and cuts.
“I already told you Harry.” She took a hold of his hand and gave him a warm smile. “I’m fine, I’m more then okay, I got lucky. Don’t beat yourself over it, it isn’t you’re fault.” She tried to reassure him, but she could tell that what she was telling him wouldn’t change anything. “Oh, Harry...”
“You’ll need some more clothes for tomorrow.” Harry told her, looking away, not wanting to talk about it anymore.
“Maybe I can call Serena and she can pick some stuff up from my apartment.” Deidre said, she had a hunch that Harry wanted to go over to her place. However, she knew that would only make matters worse.
“No, I’ll go, It will just be a quick drive.” Harry said. The other reason why he wanted to go to Deidre’s place wasn’t only to pick up some clothes for her, but to confront Bella on what she had done.
“No! You don’t have to do that! I’m sure that outside is crazy with the media camping outside. It’s already been a train wreck...” Deidre was gonna say something else, however, Harry cut her off.
“I can go out the back way.” He sat down on the edge of her bed when he saw that she still wasn’t certain about the idea. “It’ll be fine, I promise, maybe Bella won’t even be there.” He smirked.
Deidre rolled her eyes in annoyance. “You never know! Can you at least least try to get Tab for me.”
“Why?” Harry cleared his throat once he saw the death glare she was giving him. “What I mean by that is that where do you want me to put him once I get him? You obviously can’t bring a kitten to a hospital.” Harry chuckling at the thought of the kitten hissing and scratching everyone, as long as it wasn’t him.
“Maybe you can just bring him back to you’re place.” Deidre smile grew at the thought. Harry had always told her that he loved animals. She knew this would be a perfect opportunity for him.
Harry smile faded as he thought of the horror that would take place once he took that kitten home with him. “I’ll see what I can do.” He said. He was lying through his teeth, but Deidre didn’t notice.
“Thank you.” She said as she kissed him on the cheek. “Fine, you can go, just don’t do anything stupid.”
“Pffft, I won’t.” Harry winked at her as he got up from the bed and walked out the door. Deidre knew that he would probably not listen to her. However, the thought of what Harry would do faded away when her phone began to ring, she saw who it was and picked it up.
“You finally picked up!” Daisy screamed through the phone, she managed to wipe some of her tears away. She had been on edge all day and Harry still hadn’t told her anything, she had feared the worst.
“Sheesh, What the hell!” Deidre jumped in surprise at her friend’s screaming coming through the phone.
“Sorry, sorry, wait, no I’m not, I was worried about you! You’re boyfriend didn’t even care to call me back to say how you were doing. I thought the worst!” Daisy told her as she ran a hand through her hair in frustration.
“Apart from the bruises and the broken foot, I’ll live.” Deidre chuckled.
“This isn’t funny Deidre!” Daisy told her sternly. She was close to tears again.
Deidre sighed when she heard how distressed Daisy sounded. “You’re right, it’s not. But I’m all right, you don’t have to worry about me anymore.”
“Stop trying to not worry about you? Never. Can’t do that. You’re like my sister.” Daisy said.
“Oh, Daisy, you know that’s not...”
“It’s not possible, I know, but you are, you’ll deny it and deny it, but we are. We’ve been through so much together. I love you. I don’t think you’ll ever know or understand how upset I was when I first heard you were in an accident. I had no idea what to do, I had no idea what to tell Alisha, you know she would be torn up about it. I’m just happy that you’re safe. The media have been relentless in all of this.” Daisy explained to her. “The articles upon articles about what they write about you, I have no idea how to keep it all together.”
“Simple, I just don’t look at it.” Deidre had seen some of the articles written about her, most were positive, talking about how hard it must have been for her to be a royal girlfriend. Yet, there were others that thought she wasn’t good enough and probably getting their sources from Bella. They talked about how Harry should never marry a women like Deidre, they claimed this because they thought she seemed to be distant and cold. That’s what really hurt her. She never thought that she was standoffish or rude towards other. It was just that she never liked showing her emotions.
“I give you a lot of credit. How is Harry taking it all?”
“He’s beating himself over it, you should have seen how guilty he looked. He has been here since I was admitted. He tries to show this facade of being okay, but he’s not.” Deidre told her friend, she sighed.
“What? How could this be his fault? The person who deserves what’s coming to her is you’re psycho flatmate.”
“You mean ex-flatmate, thankfully.” Deidre breathed out.
“I could have told you that she was bad news. But you would have never believed me.” Daisy said.
“You never even met the women.” Deidre reminded her.
“Just the way you were talking about her and all the stuff she pulled with you, she always rubbed me the wrong way. Let’s just say it was a feeling, and I was right.”
“Everyone was right, I was just too foolish to notice it.”
Daisy gasped pretending to be shocked. “Woah, Deidre admitting she was foolish? I thought I would never see the day.”
“You’re so funny, not!” Deidre said. “Anyway, I need to get some more rest, I’ll talk to you tomorrow, that’s when I’ll be discharged.”
“Good, good, Good. I’ll talk to you then.” The friends said goodbye and after they hanged up Deidre put her phone next to her bedside, she closed her eyes and within seconds she was out like a light.
The ride to Deidre’s flat was successful. Harry had gone out the back of the hospital, there were no paparazzi outside the alleyway. If there were, Harry knew that his anger would get the best of him. Edward and Harry’s PR team managed to stop pictures and video being released of Deidre during the accident. Harry himself had written a letter condoning the actions of the paparazzi and the media on how they had treated Deidre in the past, calling for them to stop and leave her alone, to give her the privacy she deserved.
Harry went up the stairs to Deidre’s flat and once he stood at the front of the door he knocked, he didn’t know if Bella was there or not. He had forgotten to ask Deidre for her key. After a couple of seconds of silence he flipped over the welcome mat that was in front of the door and picked up the spare key. He smirked as he turned the key and opened the door. Andy and John walked in before him making sure that everything was safe and secure. They gave him the thumbs up and he walked into the flat.
Harry found a suitcase of Deidre’s in her closet and started to pack a couple of items of clothes. Something that Deidre would be comfortable in, some pajama pants, and blouse. Harry looked up when he heard commotion outside, he hurried outside but stopped short when he saw Bella in the living room, her hands were placed on her hips. She looked irritated.
“Care to tell me how you got into my flat?!” Bella yelled as she walked over to Harry.
“Spare key under the welcome mat.” Harry gritted through his teeth as he showed her the key. She quickly took it from him.
“Well, you should have told me that you were coming.” Bella soon calmed down.
“I’m just here to get a couple of Deidre’s things. You know her, the roommate you betrayed.” Harry told her.
“I did not betray her, she was just too dumb to notice that I was the one who was telling all those stories about her.” Bella rolled her eyes, she was fed up. She felt like Deidre was just trying to play the innocent victim. “Besides, she doesn’t deserve to be you’re girlfriend, I’m sure a lot of people would agree with me, she is nothing but a cold heartless bitch who doesn’t know what love its”
Harry became red in the face, his grip tightened around the handle of Deidre’s suitcase. He wanted to say something, however, he knew he would do something he would regret. “You’re not even worth it.” He said under his breath, that’s all that he could get out. He pushed past her and handed the suitcase to Andy. “I need to get the cat.” He turned around and started to look for the cat, after sometime he found tab under the couch. “Come on you stupid...” He yelped as the cat scratched him on the hand.
“I’m telling you, he doesn’t like anyone, expect for Deidre of course. Maybe because he knows she’s a...” Bella tried to get the last couple of words out but stopped short when she heard Harry brining his hands down on the coffee table, the bang made Bella jump.
“You would shut you’re mouth!?” Harry yelled. He huffed and grumbled as he got up. “I’ll get the cat later! Make sure he’s not hurt or you’ll have to deal with Deidre!” He said, pointing at her. He made his way back to the front door.
“What does she have that I don’t have?! You can have me, hell you can have any women you want, but you choose her!?” Bella called out after him. She threw her hands up in the air. Simply tired and annoyed with how Harry was treating her.
“I can go on and on why she’s the most amazing women, how she’s smart, how she’s quirky in her own special way. She doesn’t deserve the shit that you have been giving her. If I had my way I would sue you, but I know that will just cause you to have more attention, something you don’t deserve. So just do us a favor and stay the hell out of our lives. Me and a few other people will be back to get more of Deidre’s things.” Harry ended his rant and walked out the door, slamming the door behind him. He didn’t realize how much he needed to get things off his chest until he calmed down. He ran a hand over his face in aggravation and followed his PO’s out of the apartment. After all this was over with, he knew both he and Deidre deserved a holiday.
When Harry arrived back to Deidre’s hospital room he saw that she was fast asleep. A smile grew on his face, he knew that she needed her sleep. He quietly put her suitcase near her bedside and sat down next to her bed. Deidre might have told him to go home, but he couldn’t, he would stay by her bedside till she would be leave the next day. It would be a long day for the both of them and he knew he had to get some sleep.
The next day passed and they had decided that they would leave that evening. Deidre tried to her best to get ready. All she cared about was that she looked presentable. “Thank you for getting me all this stuff.” She told Harry as she motioned towards the suitcase. “Was Bella at the flat when you arrived?” She asked.
“She walked in right when I was about to leave.”Harry told her. “Long story short I told her to stay away from us.”
“Well, Good, I’m glad.” Deidre was happy to hear it. She needed to get away from Bella, she had hurt her really badly. Deidre would always regret jumping so quick into getting a roommate when she first moved to London. She should have waited, but what done was done and now she could only learn from it.
Deidre zipped up her bag, all set and ready to leave. She took a deep breath in and out. She gave Harry a smile. They both looked up when they heard Ed walking into the room.
“Hello, Edward.” Deidre said, giving him a warm and friendly smile.
“Hello.” Edward told her in a friendly manner. He turned to look at Harry.
“Is everything read for us to leave?” Harry asked. The night before Harry had told Edward that it would be best if they went through the back and leave that way, he didn’t want Deidre to go through the media circus that was outside.
“Yes, well, no...” Ed blurted out. Harry smile disappeared and Ed knew that he had to explain himself fast before Harry flipped out on him. “Let me explain, I talked with you’re PR team and we think it’s best that you two go out the front entrance, maybe pose for a couple of photos and...”
“NO! Absolutely not!” Harry voiced boomed, Deidre jumped a little, not expecting him to be so mad. She was sure nurses and doctors could hear him from down the hall.
“Harry...” Deidre said, her voice in hushed tone. She had never seen him getting this angry before.
“No, don’t.” Harry snapped at her. He looked back at Ed. “We are going through the back entrance, none of this photo call bullshit.”
“Harry, I think Edward is right.” She told him. Harry snapped his head around, startled at what he had just heard. “Let me explain.”
“You don’t know what it will be like! Trust me, Deidre, it’s for you’re own good.” Harry told her sternly.
“I know that you love me, I really do, I love you as well. However, please stop trying to make decisions for me.” Deidre smiled.
“But...But...” Harry stuttered out. He was taken back by the fact that she had told him she loved him for the first time, on top of figuring out what to say.
“I think we should. I don’t want too, but I think it would be in our best interest, maybe if we give them what they want, they can leave us alone.” Deidre explained to him.
Harry frowned and grumbled something under his breath. “I guess.”
“All right, It’s decided.” Deidre looked at Ed. He nodded his head and walked out the door. She grabbed a hold of her suitcase. “It will be fine.”
Harry didn’t say anything to her and still didn’t say a word when they walked out of the room and walked into the elevator. He hated what they were doing, he thought the media didn’t deserve anything from him, especially not from Deidre. But he knew that it was the only way. He hoped that they would take what he said in his letter seriously. However, Harry wasn’t holding his breath. He knew they would never change, it was still something Harry had trouble getting to terms with.
The couple walked out of the elevator and towards the double doors that lead outside. “Are you sure?” Harry asked, placing a hand behind her back, making sure she was okay.
She nodded her head and grabbed a hold of his hand, reassuring him that everything would be all right. They waited a few moments and then the doors finally opened. Andy and John walked out before them, along with Edward.
They looked at each other one more time before they walked out of the hospital. Then finally, the moment arrived, the moment the worlds media had been waiting for, photos of Harry and his girlfriend, a women who had stolen his heart, who most people thought would be his future wife. The camera’s snapped away, a good dozen photos would be taken of that day.
The couple gave their best smiles, even though inside they weren’t happy, especially Harry. Soon it was all over and Harry helped her down the stairs, people would react to how he held her hand and put his hand behind her back, people would point out how affectionate they were towards each other. Deidre got into the car first beside Harry and he slammed the door behind him, within moments they sped away from the hospital, on their way to Serena’s house.
“See, wasn’t that bad.” Deidre told him. She thought it was a success.
“I guess.” Harry mumbled under his breath. He still wasn’t pleased with what they had to do. “Let’s hope they’ll calm down with it all.”

Chapter Nineteen
(Hope you all like it. Comments and suggestions are welcomed. Also, there’s a mature part in this chapter, I marked it as M, if you don’t want to read that type of stuff, please skip to EM.)
“Ah!” Harry cried out as he took a huge jump back. He glared down at the kitten that he could have sworn was glaring at him.
Harry had come over to Deidre’s house for dinner, it was the first time he had come face to face with cat that Deidre had picked up in the middle of a grocery store parking lot. She had left the room to clean some plates. Harry got up from the table as he took a swig of his drink. As he tried to pet the cat it hissed and scratched at him. He now knew why he wasn’t a cat person.
“Is everything all right?” Deidre said, rushing back into the dining room.
“THAT! THAT THING!” Harry yelled as he pointed to the kitten. “Tried to bite me!”
Deidre looked down at the kitten, who was now purring and jumping onto the seat Harry had only sat on moments before. She shook her head and fa frown appeared on her face. “Harry, seriously, he didn’t, you’ll live.” She said as she petted Tab.
“Well, I don’t like him.” Harry groaned. “Are you sure he doesn’t have rabies?” Harry looked at Deidre’s reaction, if looks could kill, he would be. “What?!” He said as he threw his hands up. “I’m just saying you picked the kitten up from a grocery store parking lot.”
“He doesn’t have rabies! I took him to the vet, he’s perfectly healthy. Sheesh. Stop being mean to him, maybe you were making him agitated.” She pouted at Tab and picked him up.
“I did nothing of the sort.” Harry said.
“Just because you don’t like cats, doesn’t mean you can take it out on him.” Deidre shook her head as she walked into the kitchen.
“I don’t hate cats.” Harry followed her. “I’m just not fond of them..”
“Oh, I can tell.” Deidre sat Tab down on the ground and gave him a couple of cat treats.
“You’re spoiling him.” Harry mumbled under his breath.
“You don’t have an animal, you wouldn’t understand.” She told him. “Isn’t that right, your my little baby.” Harry was shocked, he couldn’t believe it, he didn’t think he would see the day, Deidre was speaking in a baby voice, he wasn’t a fan.
“Can you never do that again.” Harry asked.
“Oh shush.”
Harry needed to get off the topic of her crazy kitten, he cleared his throat. “How was classes?” He asked.
Deidre’s face smiled as the topic of her job was brought up. “It’s fine, the students are fine, It’s decent, it brings food on the table.” Deidre sighed. “Can we talk about something else, I’m trying to get away from school.”
“I understand, if it doesn’t make you happy, maybe you shouldn’t do it anymore.” Harry touched her on the shoulder, he gave her one of his famous smiles, and she was hooked in.
“Maybe, I’ll have to think about it more.” Deidre explained to him.
“Anyway, I have something I want to ask you.” They walked out of the kitchen and into the living room, Tab following close behind him. As they sat down Tab quickly jumped up on Deidre’s lap. Harry rolled his eyes.
“As you were saying.” Deidre said as she started to pet Tab and then went to rub his belly. The kitten was enjoying every minute of it.
“My father is having a gala dinner for The Prince’s Trust.” Harry started to explain.
“Yes, go on...” She told him, not looking up at him.
“Do you want to be my date for it?” Harry asked, he didn’t expect for her to say yes.
“Of course, I would love to be your date.” Deidre’s face lit up and looked up.
“R-Really?” Harry was taken back by her reaction.
“Do you want me to go?” She frowned. “You seem disappointed.”
“No, no, I’m happy, I’m just taken back a bit. I thought I would have to talk you into it or something.” Harry chuckled.
“Well, you didn’t have to, lucky you.” She winked at him and burst out laughing. “It’s for a good cause and it gives me an excuse to dress up.”
“You’ll look beautiful no matter what.” He kissed her on the cheek.
She blushed as she pulled away from the kiss.
On the morning of the Gala, Deidre walked out of a local thrift store, holding a bag with a pair of designer shoes that she managed to find for a bargain. She was all smiles as she walked down the street to her car. However, It faded when she saw two men coming up with camera, she looked away as they started to take pictures of her.
“Not good, not good.” She mumbled under her breath as she walked past them. She got to her car and quickly got in, by the time she had started her car, there were a good amount of paparazzi trying to take her picture. She was furious. She started to pull out of the parking spot, she didn’t care if they were in front of her. All that matter to her was that she go away. The papparazzi moved out of the way, not wanting to get hit.
She threw her bags on the ground as she stormed into her flat, she was breathing heavy, she took out her phone and typed in Harry’s name. She gasped as she saw some of the headlines.
“HARRY DATING AN AMERICA! HARRY AND THE DOCTOR! HARRY DATING AN AMERICAN BRUNETTE, WALLIS SIMPSON 2.0?” Were just some of the headlines that pertained to Deidre and Harry.
She threw her phone onto the table as she sat down and put her head in her hands. She knew it would happen, but she didn’t expect it to happen so fast.
She heard her phone ring, she glanced at who the caller was, and answered it. “Did you see?”
“Some guy yelled it out as I was leaving my engagement.” Harry said, gritting his teeth, he was angry and Deidre could tell. “Did they, did they bother you?” He asked, his anger washing away.
“Well, no, they followed to me to my car as I left a store. But that was about it. I can’t believe they found out so soon.”
“Deidre, you need to talk to Bella...” Harry told her.
“She’s at work...”
“I don’t care if she’s at work, you need to leave, you need to get out of there.” Harry voice rose in desperation. Deidre rolled her eyes at what Harry was telling her.
“Harry, don’t be so dramatic.” She said.
“I’m not being dramatic, she’s using you! One of the tabloid reporters by accident posted on twitter that Bella was the source.” Harry didn’t hear any response from Deidre. His words were just meant with silence, he was becoming frustrated. “Deidre!” He yelled.
So many emotions were running through her. “I’m here, Are you sure it her?” She said.
“I’m sure, he confirmed it soon after.” Harry sighed, disappointed and angry that someone close to Deidre would betray her. “You know...” He breathed out. “You don’t have to go...”
“No, I’m going!” Deidre snapped, she sighed, trying to control her anger. “I’m going with you, I’m not going to run away and hide!”
“I didn’t say anything about...” Deidre cut him off before he could say anything else.
“I’ll see you tonight.” Deidre told him and quickly hanged up the phone. She was furious, she just sat there, waiting for Bella to arrive home, and that’s when she would give her a piece of her mind.
Deidre looked up from watching a show on television when she heard the front door unlock and open. Her eyes narrowed, the moment finally arrived. She jumped up from the couch and marched to the front door, grabbed the side of the door and banging it to the side.
Bella had a look of shock on her face. She just stood there, not knowing what to do. “Uh..I’m..What’s going...”
“Oh don’t play with me, Bella!” Deidre cried out. Bella hurried into the flat, closing the door behind her. “You bitch!” Deidre screamed.
Bella gasped, shocked that her roommate would call her that. “Excuse me, who the hell hurt you? What did I do?” She said.
“Oh, like you don’t know, your the little rat that told the media about my relationship with Harry!” Deidre growled softly under her breath as she pointed a finger at her.
“What? No, you’re being crazy.” Bella scoffed as she heard what Deidre was saying.
“You damn well know what I’m talking about. Someone from a tabloid accidentally said on twitter that he was your source!” Deidre was livid, she hated being lied too.
Becca frowned as Deidre told her what she knew. She eyes become cold as she glared at her. “Oh, really? Didn’t think he would tell...”
“Well, he did. Why the hell would you do something like that?!” Deidre yelled as she lifted her hands into the air.
“Because, I knew you would crack under the pressure once the media found out. So much so that you would break up with Harry.” Bella told her, snickering.
“You are truly pathetic, do you honestly see me cracking under the pressure?” Bella didn’t respond and Deidre shook her head and scoffed. “That’s what I thought, I’m packing my things.”
“And where do you think your gonna go? You don’t have any friends?” Bella smirked.
“I’ll think of something. If you were really my friend and knew what was going on in my life, you would know I’ve become close to a couple of Harry’s friends. Your pathetic, like usual.” Deidre turned her back on Bella, about to walk towards her bedroom, when all of a sudden Bella burst out laughing. “What’s so funny?
“You..You honestly think you have friends? You honestly think someone like Lady Serena is your friend? News flash, she isn’t, the only reason they are remotely interested in you is because of who your sleeping with. Which, let’s be honest, you probably can’t do that right...”
Deidre had slapped her across the face, so hard that you could see a red hand mark on Bella’s cheek. “Don’t you dare finish that sentence! Your delusional, Where is your boyfriend? Oh, that’s right, he dumped your sorry ass months ago, no surprise, seeing how your obsessed with my boyfriend.”
“You psycho! I can’t honestly believe Harry would ever date someone like you.” Bella winched as she touched her now red cheek.
“Oh, honey, at least he isn’t stuck with you. I better not see your face ever again, after I come back from the gala, I’ll be out of here by morning.” With that Deidre walked into her bedroom and slammed the door. She felt tears welling up in her eyes, but she tried to push it back and whipped a few that had escaped. She would let Bella get to her, not now, not ever. She laid down on her bed, Tab jumped up onto the bed and cuddled up to her.
A couple of hours passed and Deidre quickly got ready for the night. She found a beautiful cream and pink dress, It came with an original hefty price tag, however, she got it on a discount.
After she did her hair and makeup she gave one last look at her outfit, happy with how she looked, she grabbed her clutch and put her shoes on. She breathed a heavy sigh, she hoped Bella wasn’t outside, wanting another go at her.
Thankfully Bella was nowhere to be seen and Deidre quickly rushed out of the flat and into her car, she frowned when she saw a small group of paparazzi taking pictures of her, she pretended not to notice them and drove off.
She parked her near the venue and got out of her car. Luckily she had lost the paparazzi a ways back. She grabbed her clutch and walked across the street.
When she arrived to the venue, she looked around, wondering if Harry had already made it or not.
“Deidre, wonderful that you could come.” Someone said from behind her, she turned around and a small smile appeared on her face once she saw Charles. Before she knew it, he had kissed her on the cheek, she was a bit taken back and before she could pull away he kissed her on her other cheek.
“Hello...” She pulled away, she needed to get used to their way of saying hello. “It’s a wonderful honor to be here.”
“When Harry told us that you would be coming, we were thrilled, isn’t that right, dear?” Charles asked as he turned to look at the women beside him.
“It is, lovely to meet you, I’m Camila.” The women said as she shook Deidre’s hand.
Deidre gave her a warm smile, Harry had told her a lot about Camila. How she was her step mother and just all the wonderful stuff she had been doing over the years, Deidre had only knew some tidbits about Harry’s parents marriage, but never went into depth, it wasn’t until she looked around it that she found out Camila was one of the many reasons for Harry’s parents divorce. Deidre was appalled at all the grief the poor women got over the years, she didn’t think it was fair, but Deidre never wanted to bring it up to Harry, it wasn’t her place.
“There you are...” Deidre turned around and saw Harry. She quickly walked passed Camila and Charles and pulled Harry into a hug.
Harry chuckled as he pulled away. He gave a quick peck on the cheek, they both heard a click of a camera, but both didn’t care at the moment. “I was wondering when I would be seeing you, thought you would be ditching me.” Deidre told him, jokingly.
“I would have..” Harry winked at her and he was met with a small slap on his shoulder. “Hey, ow.” He said as he touched where she had hit him.
“Oh please, I didn’t hit you that hard. Anyway, you look amazing in that tux. Not gonna lie, the beard has grown on me.” She grinned, she wanted to touch his cheek, but she knew there were cameras around, so she had to control herself.
“Well, you look gorgeous, as always.” He leaned against my ear. “Maybe after this we can meet up at your place or mine.” He told her.
“It will probably have to be your place, I’m moving out.” Deidre told him. Harry pulled away and gave her a look, he was obviously confused. She rolled her eyes. “Hello, I confronted Bella, let’s just say, you were right.”
“Like always...” Harry smirked, obviously very proud that his hunch was right.
His comment was met with a groan from Deidre. She shook her head. “Don’t start. Anyway, after this I’m going back to the flat to pack.”
“Where are you going to go?” Harry asked, he became worried, she didn’t know many people in London. He wanted her to be safe.
“I’m going to ask Serena.” She sighed. “She’s the only person that I know well.”
“Fine, I think that would be a good idea. I don’t want you to end up in some seedy motel room.” Harry told her.
“Oh yes, I can see the pictures now, Harry’s girlfriend living in a motel room, classic.” She was joking, but Harry didn’t find it any laughing matter.
“I’m being serious!” He said.
“I know, I know, let’s just stop taking about it. I need to find my table.” Deidre looked down at the little card that she had picked up in the front. “I’m at table eight.” She looked back at him.
“Ah, your in the middle, here, let me show you to your table.” Harry said as he put out his arm for her to take.
“I would love that.” Deidre said as she interlocked her arm with his. As they were making their way to her table, she could feel people looking, but in that moment, she could have hardly cared at all. The only thing that matter to her was that she was with Harry.
When they arrived at her table, they both said hello to the guest that had already made it. Some were stunned that they got to meet Harry, and some were even surprised to see Deidre there. “Hello, nice to meet you all.” Deidre said as she sat down on the table.
“Oh my god, Oh my god, I can’t believe it.” One women with dirty blonde hair said, Deidre could obviously tell she couldn’t fully comprehend what was happening.
“Oh please, calm down.” The lady said next to her, she had short black hair and crossed her arm over her chest. “Please excuse her, she freaks out about everything.”
“It’s quiet all right.” Deidre looked back up at Harry. “I’ll see you later.” Harry nodded his head and walked off.
“I can’t believe your dating him, your one lucky girl.” The women with the dirty blonde told Deidre.
“Kara!” The women with the short hair cried out as she heard what her friend said. “You have no filter. I don’t think she wants to hear that, she probably already hears that enough.”
“What? Come on Hannah, your spoiling all the fun!” Kara said and rolled her eyes.
Deidre couldn’t help but giggle and the two friends bickering at one another. It reminded her of her own relationship with Daisy. She looked at the two other guests at the table, they seemed not to care what was happening at their very own table, both where on their smart phones. She sighed and looked down at the program of events.
The entire night was hugely eventful, Deidre loved learning and hearing more about the trust. She could see how proud Charles was about the Princes Trust, he worked hard trying to make it a success. The dinner was wonderful, she didn’t notice how hungry she was till she got her food. She jumped slightly when she felt a hand touching her shoulder. “What the..Harry!” She shook her head.
Harry chuckled when he saw her jump. “Sorry, I was thinking, maybe I can talk to you in private.” He said.
Deidre didn’t understand what he meant by that. “Well, why can’t we talk right here?”
Harry snorted as the image that came to mind. “Ahh, I don’t think you would like that, I mean, it will probably be a long talk.”
“I still don’t understand what you mean.” She stood up and they walked out of the ball room. She stopped and looked at him. “We’re here, what’s so important that we couldn’t talk in public?”
Deidre was not expecting Harry to pull her into a kiss. She finally understood what he meant by talking. She moaned softly as she deepened the kiss, slipping a bit of tongue in their. But they quickly pulled away, not wanting anyone to see. “Ah, you mean that kind of talking.”
“There we go, yes, that’s what I meant.” Harry smirked.
“Where should we go?” Deidre looked around.
“I saw a janitor’s closet when I walked in, come on.” He grabbed a hold of her hand and they rushed down the hallway. Deidre tried to keep up, but it was difficult with the shoes she was wearing.
*M*
They finally made it to the closet and Harry turned the nob. Luckily for them it was open. Harry smirked. “Glad I didn’t have to pick the lock.” He said as they walked in, Deidre closing it behind her.
“Wait, you know how to pick a lock?” Deidre gave him a look of confusion. Harry just chuckled as he leaned against the wall. “I’m being serious.”
“Maybe I do, Maybe I don’t.” Harry winked.
“Oh your being ridiculous!” Deidre threw her hands up in annoyance. She shook her head as she started to unzip Harry’s trousers.
Before Harry could say anything else, Deidre had opened her mouth and went in. His eyes widen and looked down at his girlfriend giving him head. “Woah, Woah, this isn’t what I had in mind.”
Deidre stopped and pulled away. She gave him an icy cold glare, she groaned in frustration. “Do you want me to give you head or not?!” She yelled.
“SHH!” Harry snapped at her, he sighed. “Stop shouting, people might hear us.”
“Hey, it was your idea to do it in the janitor’s closet. Now, where were we?” After saying that Deidre went back to what she was doing.
It was the best thing Harry had happened to him in a while. Deidre always said that he did wonders with his mouth, but for Harry, it was always Deidre, she knew how to use her tongue. After Deidre was finished, she whipped her mouth and got up.
They looked at each other for a moment before their lips crashed against each other. Deidre took off his suit jacket while he hiked up her dress and pushed her against the wall. “Ow.” She told him, winching a bit. He stopped.
“Are you okay? Did I hurt you?” Harry became worried, his grin fading from his face.
“No, I’m fine.” She told him. Harry wasn’t buying it. “I’m fine Harry! Nothing a little ice can fix. Let’s not ruin the moment.” She pulled him closer to him by his tie and they continued where they left off. Harry hiked her dress even higher and managed to pull off her panties.
Deidre let out a gasp as he entered her, it was slow, something she wasn’t a fan of. She leaned her head against the wall. “Yes, go harder!” She told him. When she glanced up at him she saw him rolling her eyes. “Hey, you do know we can end it right here.”
“No!” Harry told her sternly. He groaned a bit as he shook his head. Deidre smirked, she could tell if they stopped, he would be in agony.
“That’s what I thought.” She giggled and kissed his neck. She moaned softly as Harry continued.
The pounding and thrusting continued. The couple managed to keep quiet the best they could, thankfully no one was outside of the door. Soon, both had reached it’s climax, both were in bliss. They breathed heavily as they laid down on the ground, trying to get the bearings.
“Once again, that was amazing.” Harry breathed out as he sat up.
Deidre nodded her head in agreement. She started to fix his buttons of his shirt. “Do you think people have noticed that we’ve gone?” She asked, glancing up at him.
“No, I don’t think they will. There were a ton of people there, I think we got lost in the crowds.” Harry said as he got up, zipping up his trousers. He held out his hand to help her up, she took it and got up.
“Oh, good, I’m glad. I don’t want the headlines tomorrow to be about us having sex.” She whispered. Harry chuckled heartily as he opened the door and followed Deidre out of the closet. At that moment she felt her clutch vibrating, she raised an eyebrow as she opened it up and took her phone out. She looked up and shrugged when she saw that Harry was giving her a look. “Sorry, It’s Daisy.”
“What? It’s the middle of the night over there, what can she possibly...”Harry began to say.
“Shh, I need to take this, I’ll be back soon.” Deidre turned on her heels and headed to the entrance. Harry just stood there, confused as to what Daisy could possibly need to talk about in the middle of the night. He huffed and walked back into the ball room.
“Hello, Deidre?” Daisy’s asked, she was sitting at her kitchen table, taking quick sip of water.
“Hello?” Deidre said as she walked outside. She frowned and looked at her phone when she didn’t get a response, she became agitated when she saw she wasn’t getting any service. “Daisy..Daisy..Your breaking up!” She groaned. Deidre walked down the side walk a bit. She smiled when the signal returned.
“Can you hear me?!” Daisy yelled.
“Yes, I can hear you, how about not shouting.” Deidre explained.
“Sorry, Anyway, how’s the gala going?” Daisy asked.
“It went wonderfully. I had a pleasant time, Harry and I got to spend some time together.” Deidre bit her lip as she said that.
“Oh..wait, fun as in...” Daisy was about to say what Deidre already knew.
“Yes, that fun.” Deidre giggled, she walked around the corner. However she stopped in her tracks when she a group of paparazzi. She breathed heavily as she turned around. “Always, why did you call me?” Her voice lowered.
“I needed your advice on something. I’m hoping your not too busy.” Daisy asked her.
Deidre turned her head to look back and saw the paparazzi noticing her. She closed her eyes for a moment and started to walk in the other direction. “Not at all. What do you need help with.”
“Well, you are a doctor and I’ve been having heartburn and contractions for the entire day now and...” Daisy couldn’t even continue before her friend cut her off.
Deidre was not going to take any of Daisy’s nonsense. “For the last time, Daisy, I am not that type of doctor!” She explained as she continued down the street. She stopped when she saw the paparazzi not following her anymore.
“I know that...”
“Then why do you keep asking me this type of stuff. Go to your OBGYN” Deidre told her sternly.
“Correction, I got a midwife instead.”
Deidre groaned at her friend being a pest. “Whatever, just go ask them. It’s probably Braxton hicks or something.”
“Really? I mean, It’s kind of early, don’t you think...” Daisy said as she raised her eyebrows in suspicion.
Deidre was not getting annoyed with her friend. She stepped off the sidewalk. “You asked me for advice, I gave it to you, Like I said before, go see your midwife...” She had made the mistake of only glancing both ways. Deidre hadn’t noticed the car driving towards her, it wasn’t until she saw the bright flashing lights in-front of her, she tried to get out of the way, but it was too late. The car had hit her, however, the car wasn’t going at high speeds for her to roll over, it hit her and she landed on the hood of the car and fell off it once the car stopped. She didn’t realize it was that it was her let out a huge scream until she started to feel the pain in her body.
She just laid there, in a daze, she couldn’t help but moan. The last thing she heard before passing out was the clicking of a camera. She knew Harry wouldn’t be happy.
Harry looked around at the guests and scowl appeared on his face when he didn’t see Deidre. It had been almost fifteen minutes since Deidre walked outside, He had a gut feeling something was wrong.
He sighed and walked out of the ball room and out of the venue. He look around and his blood ran cold when he saw police cars and an ambulance in the middle of the road, he saw a group of paparazzi behind held back by the police, He gave his PO’s a look and walked over to the ambulance. The sight he saw left him flabbergasted.
There she was, laying on a gurney, her face was pale and he could see some blood, a mask was placed over her mouth and nose for oxygen. He let out a harsh breath, a paramedic turned to look at him and got up. “You need to take a couple of steps back, sir.”
“What? No, she’s my girlfriend for god sakes! What the hell happened?!” Harry yelled. He didn’t care if the paparazzi heard him, he was furious, he needed answers.
“It was a drunk driver, that’s all we have right now. Please, we need to get her to the hospital.” The paramedic told him slowly. They were trying to reassure him, but Harry wasn’t buying it, It made him more worried.
Harry nodded his head reluctantly and stepped away from the ambulance. His anger grew when he saw the group of paparazzi snapping pictures. He motioned for John to come over. He leaned against his ear, so only he could hear him. “Get those sons of bitches out of here...” He pulled away and John nodded his head and he and the rest of the PO’s walked over to the group of paparazzi. Harry growled softly as he ran a hand through his hair, someone was going to pay, he was worried, he hopped Deidre would be okay.
Chapter Eighteen
(It’s been so long since I last updated. I’m so sorry for that, but hopefully this makes up for it. There is a mature part in this chapter, I marked with *M. First time writing smut. Lol. Hope you guys liked it. Tell me what you guys think.)
After only two weeks of visiting Daisy and Alex, Deidre was on her way back to England. She wished she could have stayed longer. However, she had work to do and she didn’t feel comfortable leaving her new kitten with Bella any longer.
“Have you even decided on a name yet?” Daisy asked as she parked her car in the airport parking lot.
“A name?” Deidre looked up from picking up her bag, giving her friend a puzzled look.
“Yes, a name for your cat.” Daisy told her, giggling softly at her friend’s confusions.
“Oh..Well, Hmmm.” Deidre uttered under her breath, she thought for a couple of moments. “I was thinking about Tab.”
“That’s...well..different..” Daisy said, that was a new one to her. She wouldn’t admit it, but she hated it, it was so boring. But it wasn’t her cat. She turned to look at her friend when they got to the entrance. She showed her friend a sad smile. “So, this is it for a while.”
“I know, I hate how we’re so far away from one another.” Deidre said. “However, We’ll see each other for thanksgiving.”
“Maybe I’ll have a baby by then.” Deidre touched the top of her belly. The two friends had come to the agreement that Deidre would come back and celebrate Thanksgiving with them. The baby was supposed to be born before then, so it would be a very joyous time for Daisy and Alex.
“That would be wonderful.” Deidre chuckled.
“Maybe you’ll bring Harry with you, show him how we do Thanksgiving.” Daisy chuckled softly.
Deidre shrugged her shoulders. “I would love to bring him here. It just depends on if he’s busy or not.”
“Well, tell him before hand, so he can prepare.”
The two friends hugged each other goodbye and Deidre made her way into the airport terminal. She didn’t want to leave, but she had some work to do back in England that couldn’t wait.
The rest of the summer went by quickly for Deidre. She went back to working with Olivia. She even managed to hang out with Serena and the rest of Harry’s friends. Slowly but surely she became a lot closer to them, something she was thankful for.
At the end of the month she returned to Anmer Hall. Before she left for America, Kate called her up telling her it would be wonderful if she attended George’s second birthday party. Deidre was about to decline, saying she didn’t want to intrude on anything. However, after talking with both Harry and Kate, she accepted. Harry thought it would be another wonderful opportunity for her to meet more of his family.
Deidre walked up the gravel driveway towards the house door. She hoped that George would like his present. She was terrible at gifts, if she had her way, she would’t give anyone presents. She went to the store the day before looking in the kids section, wondering what would be perfect for a two year old.
After much contemplating, she had decided on giving George a collection of Dr.Seuss books. She thought a two year old would like that. She took a deep breath as she knocked on the door.
“Glad that you could make it” William said as he opened the door. He moved a side to let Deidre in. “Please, come in.”
“Thanks.” Deidre walked into the mansion and followed William outside where most of the guests where.
“I’m glad your able to make it.” Kate said as she pulled her into a hug. Deidre was definitely not expecting that. “Do you want a drink?” She asked as she pulled away.
Deidre nodded her head. “I would love one.”
“I’ll get right on that.” Kate turned and walked to the mini bar that was outside on their patio.
“Hello...” A soft voice called out. Deidre turned around and was shocked that The Queen was there.
“Oh..Umm..” Deidre stuttered out. She didn’t know what to say or do, She was still wrapping her mind around the fact that Queen Elizabeth was in front of her. Deidre realized that they were standing in silence. “Oh, Hello, Your Majesty...” Deidre did a small curtsey, she winched at how bad she did it.
“Granny, is this the first time your meeting Deidre?” William said as he walked back over to them. He handed Deidre a drink. “Kate wanted me to give you this, She got busy trying to calm Charlotte down.”
“Thanks..” Deidre said under her breath.
“No, I haven’t met Deidre yet. It’s lovely to meet you.” Elizabeth told them, a small smile appearing on her face.
“Same...” That’s all that Deidre could muster out. She was nervous and she was sure that everyone noticed it.
“Is this her?” Deidre turned to see a very old, in Deidre’s opinion, frail man walking over to them.
“Yes, Philip, this is her.” Elizabeth said as she pointed to her.
“Your a scientist?” Philip asked her.
“That’s right, I have a PHD in forensic anthropology.” Deidre told them. Then the couple gave each other a look and Deidre frowned.
“So your a doctor?” Philip chuckled and shook his head. “Very nice, I like her already.”
“You haven’t even gotten to know me yet” Deidre let out. She was shocked that Philip would make such a statement, they only met a couple of moments ago.
Philip looked at her and shrugged his shoulders. “There’s just something about you. I’m sure you keep Harry on his toes.” He told her, jokingly.
“I mean, I guess?” Deidre was very confused.
“That’s enough, your probably scaring the poor girl.” Elizabeth grinned as she touched Philip on the arm. That was his cue to stop and nodded his head. “So, tell me, the last time Harry told me about you, he said you got a job?”
“I’m teaching forensic science at a University.” She told them.
“How fascinating..” Elizabeth said with a smile. She was definitely interested in the women before her, she was different from all the other ladies Harry was with in the past. She could tell there was something very special about her. “I’m glad the press have left you alone. I’m surprised you two managed to keep this a secret.”
“I know, there have been some close calls, but they luckily don’t know anything about me, thank goodness for that.” Deidre chuckled softly.
The party went without a hitch and Deidre was having a wonderful time. George had loved his presents, and really loved his cake. Almost all of it was either eaten or on his face.
Deidre left the party soon after and too her surprise she saw some paparazzi standing across the street. Her smile turned into a frown, she thought it was incredibly rude that they would be camping out there, just to catch a picture. She shook her head and drove off.
She didn’t think much of the paparazzi taking pictures of the guest leaving the Cambridge’s home. However, by the beginning of September pictures had surfaced. The one thing Deidre was dreading, came true.
The press had figured out about Deidre, they had connected the dots from all the pictures they had gotten over the past couple of months. They even got a couple of statements from inside sources, she still couldn’t figure out who it was, but when she did, she would make them regret ever ratting on her. The only good thing about the whole thing was that they didn’t know her name.
“Do you hear the crap they are writing about you?” Serena explained as she passed around Deidre’s living room. Deidre had called her up if she wanted to come over for dinner, Serena happily accepted. They had just finished dinner when Serena decided to see what the tabloids were writing about her friend.
“I know, I know, It’s getting to be ridiculous. They think it won’t last because I’m not blonde, they think he has a type” Deidre was mostly focus on Tab who was curled up on her lap.
“Your being really cool about this.” Serena shook her head as she took a huge gulp of her wine.
“Oh, I’m screaming internally. Yet, there’s another part of me that knew it was going to happen.” Deidre sighed. “It’s not like I stopped Harry from kissing me.”She said. One of the many pictures of the couple was them in a loving embrace, sharing a kiss.
Serena threw her head back, letting out a huge laugh, so loud that it scared Tab. He quickly jumped off his master lap and rushed down the hallway. Deidre rolled her eyes. “May I ask what’s so funny that you scared my cat?” She raised an eyebrow, waiting to see what she would say.
“Oh, just a little thing called tumblr.” Serena saw the look that Deidre was giving her, She threw her hands up in the air. “Please tell me you know what tumblr is.”
“I know what it is. I just don’t know why your on it..” Deidre rolled her eyes.
“I’m just looking you up, there’s something called the royal fandom, pretty interesting, they won’t stop talking about you...” Serena grinned as she showed Deidre.
Deidre was taken back by what she was seeing. She saw so many people talking about her, a women they knew nothing about. She couldn’t help but giggle when she saw some already making predictions on when the two would marry, However, she saw some complaining, she rolled her eyes. They had no clue what they were talking about. “I don’t know why people complain about someone they never met.”
The day had finally arrived, after a long summer apart, Harry would be finally returning home from Africa. Deidre decided that she would wait for him at his house after one of his engagements that day. She thought he was over doing it. But to her, it was typical, she knew Harry was a hard worker, and it showed.
She had everything planned out, she asked if it was all right if they went out on the night he returned, he instantly said yes, he missed her. Deidre had made reservations for dinner under two different alias’s.
She was reading a book in Harry’s study when she heard the front door open. She put down the book and rushed into the main hallway. “Your back!” She explained as she jumped into his arms.
“I missed you...” Harry kissed her on the neck. He chuckled as he let her down on the ground. “So, what do you think?” He asked as he rubbed his ginger beard.
Deidre pursed her lips together and touched his beard. After a little while she shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know how I feel about it. Are you going to shave it?” She asked, secretly hoping he would.
“What? Nah...” Harry chuckled as he shook his head. “It’s grown on me, I think I’ll keep it for a while.”
Deidre huffed as she rolled her eyes. “Fine, Fine, it’s your face. Now, do you still want to go to dinner?”
“Of course, I’m starving and we have a lot of catching up to do.” A huge smile grew on Harry face and he quickly kissed Deidre on the nose. He pulled away. “I just need to change and take a shower.”
Deidre nodded her head. “Great, Oh, it’s a fancy restaurant, so dress..um..nicely..”
“So dressing like a bum is out of the question? Oh come on.” Harry said jokingly and chuckled. “All right, I’ll look presentable.” Harry turned around and walked up the stairs and out of sight.
Deidre rushed into the downstairs bathroom. She thought it was hilarious how huge his bathrooms were, she grabbed the red dress that was hanging against the bathroom door. She took off her clothes and unzipped the red dress and put it on. She had already done her hair before arriving, she applied some lipstick, when she was satisfied she walked out of the bathroom, waiting for Harry.
Almost twenty minutes later Harry made his way back down the stairs. “Sorry about that...” He said trying to put his jacket on, however, he stopped when he finally saw Deidre. He didn’t know what to say, he just kept looking at her.
Deidre frowned when she saw Harry and threw her hands to the side. “Is this too much? Does it not look good on me...”
“Woah, no, no..” Harry snapped out of it and rushed over to her. “You look stunning, that dress..Wow...” He grinned as he looked Deidre up and down.
“Thanks..” Deidre blushed, she looked at the time on her phone. “Oh, wow, we should get going, we don’t want to lose our reservations.” She took a hold of Harry’s hand and they walked out of his place. They both decided it would be best if they took Deidre’s car, hopefully drawing less attention to themselves.
They arrived to the restaurant without incident. Harry opened the door for Deidre and followed her in. “Ooo, very fancy...” He told her.
“Serena told me about this restaurant, I thought it would be perfect.” Deidre told him softly as she interlocked her arm with his as they walked over to the hostess. “We have reservations.”
The hostess nodded as she asked Deidre what name the reservation was under. Once Deidre had given the name, The hostess showed them the way to the table, luckily the table was in the back of the restaurant.
“How was your summer?” Harry asked as he looked up from his menu.
“It was wonderful, I got to keep busy, working on some cases.” Deidre smiled.
“Now that sounds interesting, tell me more.” Harry said.
“Well, one day I had to help identify a couple of bones that were found in a ditch. The next one was where there was a torso that was found in the middle of the forest.” Deidre told him, she hadn’t noticed that some of the customers were looking at her strangely, she was oblivious to it all.
Harry’s eyes widen as he just nodded. “Woah..Wow..” He stammered out and then took a sip of water that was on the table.
“Isn’t it? It was a blast.” Deidre told him.
“I’m sure it was.” The conversation stopped when their waiter walked over to take their order. When he walked away Harry looked back at his girlfriend. “So, my grandparents told me they had a wonderful time meeting you.”
“Oh wow..” She couldn’t help but feel shocked when he told her that. “Really?”
“Yeah, did you think it went badly?” Harry asked.
“No, no, I just didn’t think they liked me.” Deidre told him.
“They loved you! My grandfather wouldn’t stop talking about you. He loved how you were a doctor.” Harry chuckled as he took her hand that was laying on the table. He then spotted the bracelet Deidre was wearing on her wrist. “Where did you get that?” He said as he pointed to the bracelet, it was surrounded by diamonds.
“You got it for me...” She told him. She saw his eyebrows scrunching forward, he was confused, trying to remember when he got her something that expensive. She let out a harsh breath. “You know, our infamous holiday last year.”
“Oh..Oh my god. I know what your talking about. I got a bill the day I left saying that it cost a fortune. I had no idea where it went, I thought it got lost or someone stole it.” Harry told her. Even though it was a year ago, he was relieved that it had gotten into the hands of Deidre.
“I always kind of knew that you got it for me. I don’t know who else would get me something like this, I’ve been wearing it for special occasions only.” She told him softly. It was very special to her and Harry could tell. She then thought it was the perfect time to give Harry his birthday present. She grabbed the envelope from her bag. “Before I forget..” She handed his the envelope and her smile grew. “Happy Birthday.”
“Thanks, you didn’t have to get me anything, this was more then enough.” Harry told her. He opened the envelope and took the card out. He grinned wildly once he saw what Deidre had given him. “Two tickets to see my favorite rugby team? Thank you.” He leaned across the table and gave her a quick peck on the lips.
“One thing you should really know about me is that I’m horrible at presents.” Deidre frowned when she saw Harry laughing. “I’m serious, I’m terrible. However, I really worked hard on this, and I thought why not get you tickets to your favorite sport? Then I asked your friends your favorite team and they told me. I’m glad you like it.”
“Oh, This is one of my favorite presents so far.” Harry then noticed that there were two tickets. “There’s two...”
“Yeah, that’s another thing I want to talk about, I wanted to join you.” Deidre said.
“Okay..” Harry nodded. “You do know that someone will probably take a photo of us.”
“Yes, I do know that. There will always be a photo taken of us. I’ve been thinking about it for the entire summer, and I’ve come to the conclusion that no matter what, there will always be articles written about us, sometimes false, I’m thinking, we should just stop trying to hide this. It’s been almost a year. Only if you okay with it.” Deidre said, Harry sat there, pondering what to say or even if it was a good idea.
“If that’s what you want, yes, let’s do it.” Harry told her. Deidre smiled and nodded.
A few minutes later there food finally arrived, they enjoyed a fabulous dinner. After they were finished with their dinner and the ice-cream sunday they had gotten to share, the check was placed in the middle of the table. Deidre tried to grab it first, but Harry took it before she got the chance.
Harry looked at the check and went to grab his wallet. “Don’t worry, I got it.” He told her.
Deidre huffed as she crossed her arms over her chest. “What? No, let me pay for it, it’s your birthday, you shouldn’t pay for dinner on your birthday.” She told him and took the check from him.
“Deidre!” Harry looked back up as he put his wallet down on the table. “I said I got it! It’s the right thing to do.”
“Oh, that’s so stereotypical.” Deidre scoffed as she reached for her purse.
“What? How is that stereotypical? I want to pay for the damn check.” Harry was confused and a bit agitated why she was making things more complicated that they should be.
“That a man always pays when he’s on a date with a women. Like what if the women wants to pay? Hmm? What next...” Deidre sighed.
“Oh god, I don’t want to get into this here. Let me pay for the damn check and let’s get out of here.” Harry voice rose as he took the check and placed his credit card on it.
The rest of the journey to Deidre’s flat was met with silence, neither wanted to talk.
“Well, here we are.” Harry spoke up as he placed his car in park.
Deidre grabbed her purse and opened the door. “Thanks and Happy Birthday.” She gave him a small peck on the cheek and got out of the car. She hurried into the building and up to her place. She was greeted by Tab, who was by the door. “Hello cutie.” She said as she picked him up and gave him kisses on his head. She made her way into her bedroom and placed him on the bed. “I hope Bella was nice to you.”
Deidre took off her clothes and put on a trench coat. She was annoyed at Harry at that moment, but that didn’t mean the rest of the night was ruined. When she was satisfied she walked out of the bedroom.
“Where have you been?” Bella’s asked as she walked out of her bedroom. She as already ready for bed.
Deidre rolled her eyes and looked at her roommate. “Well, It’s none of your business, but seeing how you’ll probably not stop talking about where I was, I went out and celebrated Harry’s birthday.”
“Oh my, that must have been amazing. I hope you treated him to a great birthday, he deserves it.” Bella was snooty and she made no effort in showing it.
“OF COURSE!” Deidre cried out. “Seriously?! Do you think you could have done better?” She scoffed as she turned around and walking towards the door.
“Maybe I could..” Bella snickered.
“Well, you couldn’t, because he would never go for a women like you.” Deidre smirked as she walked out of the door, she felt confident in what she had just said to her roommate.
“That bitch, who the hell does she think she is?!” Bella said to herself, over the past couple of months she had grown to hate Deidre. “I’ll make her life a living hell.” She softly giggled to herself.
Deidre knocked on Harry’s front door. She closed her eyes, hoping he would open up.
Harry opened the door, a tooth brush was in his mouth, only wearing a shirt and a pair of boxers. Deidre smile softly, she had caught him at a time where he was preparing to go to bed. “What happened if I was someone of importance?” She joked.
Harry took the tooth brush out of his mouth. “Who would come by at almost eleven o clock in the evening?” Harry’s said, his mouth filled with tooth paste.
“Can I please come in?” Deidre asked.
“Of course.” He stepped aside to let her in. “But, I’m confused, you seemed mad, why are you..” Before he could say anything else Deidre pulled him into a kiss. However, she quickly pulled away. He chuckled when he saw the look on her face. “Let me spit this out.” He said as he pointed out.
“Yes, please do.” Deidre whipped her mouth. Kissing someone with a mouth full of tooth paste wasn’t a good idea. She followed him into his bedroom and when he walked into the bathroom, she plopped down on his bed, leaning against her arms. She smirked as he walked back out.
*M*
“Now, where were we...” Harry said softly as he got on top of her and started to kiss her.
“Wait...” Deidre said as she put her hands against Harry, she pushed him off of her softly. “Don’t you want to see what’s under here?” She grinned.
Harry chuckled and rubbed behind his neck with his hand. He was about to say something, but when Deidre got up and took off her coat, he was lost for words. “I..I..um..” He swallowed.
“Aren’t you going to join me in bed?” She told him, teasing him a bit as she laid back down on the bed and smirked.
“Oh, yes, definitely, yes.” Harry got onto the bed and crawled over to her.
Deidre giggled as she felt Harry kissing her neck. “Ohhh, I like that.” She let out as Harry continued to trail down her neck. When he reached down to her breast, Deidre let out a small moan. Harry looked up and smirked.
Deidre started to kiss him roughly, she couldn’t help but let out another moan. In an instant she softly pushed Harry off of her and pushed him on the bed, Harry grinned wider, he was loving this. Deidre was in the process of taking off his shirt, and Harry quickly took off his boxers, ready for anything. Deidre could tell he was obviously enjoying it all as she looked down.
They smashed their lips against the others, Harry deepening the kiss. Deidre pulled away when a thought sprang to mind. “Did you..you need..protection.” In between kisses.
“Right..” Harry groaned as he sat up, Deidre sat down on the bed as Harry grabbed a condom from his bed side draw. After he was done she pushed Harry back down on the bed. She could tell Harry was pouting.
“Oh stop, protection is very important.” She grinned.
“It is, kind of ruined the moment though...” Harry mumbled under his breath.
“Well, where were we?” Deidre rolled her eyes as she pulled Harry by his cheeks and kissed him. “Mmmmh.”
Harry quickly turned her onto her back, Deidre gasped, she gave him a look. “Sorry, I just need you right now.” He kissed her one last time on the lips and then grabbed her by the hips.
Deidre huffed. “Next time I’m on top.” She told him sternly.
“Of course darling.” He grinned as he started to enter her.
Deidre leaned her head back as they started. “Holy shit..” she cried out.
Moans and groans were coming out of his bedroom for the rest of the night. After they both climaxed, they wanted to go again, and again. They only stopped when they both fell asleep, it was one of the best birthday’s Harry had in a while.
*EM*
The sun had woken up Harry as he came through his curtains. He rubbed his eyes, trying to wake up, his hand fell next to him, thinking Deidre was there next to him. He shot up in bed when he realized he was in bed alone. He grabbed his shirt and boxers that where on the floor and walked out of his bedroom. He checked his phone and saw Deidre had left him a text, telling her she was sorry but she needed to get to class. He frowned, he was disappointed, he thought she would at least say goodbye to him.
The two didn’t speak for the rest of the week, Harry had thought she was still mad about him not allowing her to pay, However, the real reason was that Deidre was swamped with work. She regretted giving out take home tests on the second week of the semester.
Harry thought of asking William to attend the rugby game, seeing how Deidre never got back to him. However, on the day of the game, Deidre had shown up at his door step. He looked at her, puzzled as to why she was there. “What..What are you doing here?” He asked as he followed her into the living room.
“What am I doing here?” Deidre was astonished at what he said. She threw her hands up in the air. “Why do you think I’m here?! I’m here because we’re going to the rugby match.” She groaned softly when Harry didn’t say anything. “Please tell me you didn’t forget.”
“No, No, I didn’t forget, I thought you weren’t going anymore.” Harry heard Deidre huff and glaring at him. “What? You didn’t talk to me since the morning after my birthday, you didn’t even say goodbye, what did you expect me to think?”
“Oh my god, I was busy with work.” She cried out as she ran a hand through her hair. “I mean, if you don’t want to go with me, thats fine, I guess I’ll just...” Deidre turned on her heels, about to walk away when Harry grabbed her hand.
“Don’t go...” He told her. “It would have been nice to at least give me a call.”
“Fine, I’m sorry, there.” Deidre responded as she got out of his grip. They stood there in silence for a bit. She sighed. “Did you have a good birthday?”
“It was wonderful, you made it ten times better.” He grinned at her as he pulled her close to him.
“Oh my, you sure are a cheese ball.” Deidre giggled, Harry just shrugged his shoulders. “Come on, let’s get going.”
“Are you sure your ready? This is a big step, especially if they find out who you are..” Harry was about to go on, but Deidre had heard it all before.
“I can kiss my privacy goodbye, blah, blah blah...” She told him. “I’ll be fine, I can deal, I think it’s the right time.” Harry nodded his head. They grabbed their stuff and walked out to his car.
They arrived at the stadium without any fuss and got to their seats. Deidre looked around and saw some people looking at them, she knew it would get out that they were there. She just shrugged it off, once the game started, she had to stand for the National Anthem, She luckily knew some of the words, so she wouldn’t look like a complete idoit.
After, they took their seats once again, she could feel Harry putting his arm around her, all she could do was blush.
She still didn’t understand why they called it rugby. But none the less, she tried to cheer for the right team, However, she failed completely, she was about to shoot up from her chair when a team scored, Thankfully Harry grabbed her arm and shook his head. “Wrong team?” She said as she winced.
“Yes, It is. That’s the team.” Harry chuckled softly as he pointed out a couple of the team members. Over the past year Harry has seen and noticed that Deidre is the very seriously type. Yet, he loved moments like these, where she wasn’t as guarded and having fun, even if she messed up and cheered for the wrong team, he just found it adorable.
Through the game Deidre could feel and notice that Harry wanted to be all touchy. Touching her leg, whispering in her ear, and Deidre loved every minute of it. She had a hard time focusing on the game.
By the end of the game both Deidre and Harry jumped up and cheered when the team scored the winning goal. “We won!” Deidre said softly, She had really gotten into the game, more then she would admit to anyone. Harry’s love for rugby had rubbed off on her.
Once the game was over Deidre grabbed her Jean jacket she had pared with her blouse and blue jeans, and they were out of there. Half down the steps she stopped and turned, she had forgotten her pocketbook. However, Harry stopped her and lifted her bag up. She sighed in relief. “Thank god you grabbed it, I almost had a heart attack.”
“I’ll always come to the rescue.” Once Harry said that Deidre couldn’t help but roll her eyes. Harry always loved saying cheesy pickup lines.
“Wonderful, thanks.” She said sarcastically. She grabbed her pocketbook from Harry’s grasp and they continued to walk down the stairs. Once they made it to the entrance, Harry stopped.
“Andy and John said they would pull the car up in front.” Harry grabbed a hold of her hand and they walked to the side, not wanting to block anyone.
Deidre frowned, the parking lot was only a short walk. They hadn’t parked far away, then it dawned on her. “Oh, let me guess, paparazzi?”
“A good amount of them...” Harry said to her.
Deidre nodded her head and crossed her arms over her chest. She could feel butterfly’s in her stomach, she was nervous, she tried to push it away, but she couldn’t. She wondered what the media would say about her. “ I wonder who tipped them off.” She said jokingly, she knew it was probably someone from the game.
“Maybe it was your roommate.” Harry mumbled under his breath.
“Wait, did you just say my roommate?” She was astonished.
“I didn’t want to bring it up or even talk about it, because I thought I would be wrong, but after a while, it’s becoming more apparent that something’s up with her.” He told her.
“Oh come on Harry.” She scoffed.
“Don’t you find it odd that whenever you tell her something, whether it be visiting Kate, going out with me, the media will always follow.” Harry said.
“Here’s a thought, maybe it’s your friends!” Deidre explained as she pointed a finger at him.
“No, It’s not, they know better then to rat me out to the media.” Harry told her. “You said it yourself, you don’t like her, so why are you defending her?” He asked.
“I’m not!” She cried out as she took a few steps back. She ran her hands through her hair. She started to take deep breaths, trying to calm down. “I’m not defending her, I just can’t see her doing something like that.” She said, through her teeth.
“And why not?” Harry shook his head, he saw his PO’s walking over to them. “Let’s get going.”
“Because, she is in public relations, she wants to work for your family.” Deidre tried to explain to him as they walked out of the stadium and into the car. She could hear the clicking of the camera’s, but she kept her head down, Harry got into the other side. Even before she put her seatbelt, the car sped off, startling Deidre. “Holy..Harry..” She looked at him.
“Just think about it more.” Harry told her as they arrived to her flat.
“I’m telling you, it’s not her, why would she do something like that if she wants to work for your family?” Deidre grabbed her bag.
“Probably think’s she wont get caught, but she’ll make a mistake, I’m sure of it.” Harry told her.
“Today was fun..” Deidre wanted to get off the topic. “I’ll talk to you later.” She kissed him on the cheek. “Bye.”
“Bye, beautiful.” Harry grinned.
“Seriously, stop being so cheesy.” Deidre said jokingly.
She watched as Harry’s car drove away and walked into her building. She was greeted by her cat as walked into her flat. “Hello cutie.” She explained as she picked up her cat. Tab purred, very happy to have her master back home.
Deidre thought about what Harry had said about Bella. She did find her a bit suspicious, but she still didn’t think anything of it, it would be something she would regret later on, but for the moment, she would watch a movie and cuddle with her kitten.
Chapter Seventeen- Part 2
