One ovary or two?
Yesterday I found out that I have a benign cyst in my left ovary- for 6 years I have been struggling with PCOS from gaining 50 pounds, to random acne on my body, irregular periods, and a lot of mood swings. So I was used to getting news about my health not in a positive way. Yesterday they told me the removal of the cyst has extremely high chances that the ovary will get removed as well.
This is when I knew I was being tested by the higher being. As if he hasn't thrown so many curve balls my way he decided this one was definitely gonna be a homerun. The doctor asked me what my plan was for kids, I said I don't know not right now, eventually one day. Having PCOS had already lowered my chances with having kids, but I know many people who have gotten pregnant with PCOS and made it. So why not I?
My life has been up and down with obstacles, I dont know where to begin. and here I am, 29 years old, during a pandemic, contemplating on am i ever having kids. I havent been in a relationship since 2011, because i gave up. then when I was diagnosed with PCOS I completely gave up being in a relationship. I needed to fix myself because bringing someone into this problem of mine.
Sex isnt a problem though- I can give myself up to someone and enjoy the physical. but when it comes to the emotional part I rather not be bothered. yet when she asked me this question all i kept thinking about was would I be alone forever?
What is my plan? I have no idea, she then discussed with me that one ovary would really lower my chances even more if I want to have kids in the future. I think my dream of being a mother is almost over.
Can i really succeed with one ovary and overcome PCOS? TBD
