I'm not sure most would agree but, one of the most beautiful things about being a witch and magically/energetically inclined for me is the shadow work.
It's such a gorgeous experience to be perceptive enough to catch opportunities to grow as a person.
Id really like to open this space up to hear about the shadow work you all are doing that you're excited about if you're willing to share with me. You can send me an ask or reblog this.
One thing I've been working on lately has been my inclination and subconscious habit of possessing people I love and care about and on the flipside being upset when they aren't possessing me. Learning to show up for this and re-architect how I treat others and myself has been such a beautiful journey.
Part of this work being implementing this mantra a friend has given me: divorce want and need and embrace like and love. Figuring out what this means for me and how and where to apply it has been...intense, frustrating, humbling, and so loving too. I've had to ask for forgiveness so frequently recently from my partner and friends and it's humbling. It's a gorgeous thing to be human, and get to show my humanity by fucking up. And on that same coin, to show my divinity by bowing to the wisdom of "haven't... Yet.".
Shadow work is in my opinion the same top priority as doing the most good for the most people with the most I can for the most time. And I can enjoy it just as much too.
How and where are you finding joy in your shadow work?
If you don't become the ocean, you'll be seasick every day.
Leonard Cohen
The tides are in our veins, we still mirror the stars, life is your child, but there is in me Older and harder than life and more impartial, the eye that watched before there was an ocean.
Robinson Jeffers
The simple fact is that we live in a world of conflict and opposites because we live in a world of boundaries. Since every boundary line is also a battle line, here is the human predicament: the firmer one’s boundaries, the more entrenched are one’s battles. The more I hold onto pleasure, the more I necessarily fear pain. The more I pursue goodness, the more I am obsessed with evil. The more I seek success, the more I must dread failure. The harder I cling to life, the more terrifying death becomes. The more I value anything, the more obsessed I become with its loss. Most of our problems, in other words, are problems of boundaries and the opposites they create.
Ken Wilber (No Boundary: Eastern and Western Approaches to Personal Growth)
