#one drive

This is a losing strategy in many ways but the biggest is that it alienates most of their elder users.

People who know stuff about computers use open source programs or browser based programs but the elderly are still using Microsoft suite.

Yesterday I witnessed as friend of mine. Got a call from parents because they've changed how you save directly to your desktop. My friend had to lay out all of the ways in how you have to go to your files and change your saving destination. This was a 15-minute call.

You used to be able to hit the floppy disk button at the top of the screen. Boom saved.

It does not work like that anymore and this is going to ruin Microsoft. I know that everybody's bagging on co-pilot... And don't get me wrong. AI is bad and evil. But your basic programs not doing their basic functions anymore and trying to replace them with a subscription service that none of these elderly people have ever had to use before. Will destroy your company.

They do not know what OneDrive is. They do not know how to access OneDrive. They have never once realized that they were given online storage.

Old people will go to a computer store and ask for more storage before paying a subscription service. And they will not get it because they will not realize that their computer has storage and OneDrive is separate. They are too dumb. They are too old.

Hey, msumblr, can you tell me how it is that my "cloud storage" which presumably came with the Windows 11 laptop (like many other features I've avoided activating (which, I do understand, may or may not have kept them from activating)) is over a thousand percent full when I'm not aware of ever having accessed it, can't find it in File Explorer so I don't even know what's in it, and (according to what I saw in the clicking around I did do) as intended I've never even created a free One Drive account??

(make sure Enable Browser Source Hardware Acceleration is unchecked in OBS Settings -> Advanced -> Sources. that's all I had to do)
