I just discovered the 爆転ベイワンドロ (Bakuten Bey one-draw) tag on Twitter. How does that work? I’m guessing it’s one drawing a day, but... is it like inktober where you get a prompt for each day? Where is the prompt list?
Bob’s wife, the lovely Rita Marley, bringing us her solo album from 1980, “Who Feels It Knows It”. This is truly one of the most beautiful and easily loved Reggae albums of all time! Everything about it is great, it was truly one of those albums where there were “no clunkers”...every song was excellent!
And Mrs. Marley’s voice is a thing of beauty, as well. I remember first hearing this when it came out; I was managing a “Sound Warehouse” record store in Houston at the time. I made sure we kept this one on the turntable as much as possible, as well as the 12″ extended version of the single “One Draw (I Wanna Get High)”, with Rita as “teacher” and the Marley kids being the “students” in the classroom...sweet as it could be, really.
If you have never heard Rita Marley, or this album, please do yourself a favor, pack a bowl, torch a nug, and play this! To me it was “a perfect album” and one of the most accessible Reggae albums back in 1980, and FORTY FREAKIN’ YEARS LATER, it STILL does it for me!
