Washington, DC | BROWNLEY ANNOUNCES $125,000 GRANT FOR CHABAD OF CAMARILLO TO PREVENT YOUTH SUBSTANCE ABUSE
Washington, DC — Today, Congresswoman Julia Brownley (D-Westlake Village) announced that Chabad of Camarillo received a $125,000 Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program grant from the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) to help prevent youth substance abuse.
“We must do more to help address and prevent drug abuse from afflicting the young people in our community,” said Congresswoman Brownley. “I am pleased to announce that Chabad of Camarillo will receive this grant, which will go directly to helping young people in Ventura County make smart choices and prevent substance abuse, making our communities safer and healthier for everyone.”
The Drug-Free Communities Program, created by the Drug-Free Communities Act of 1997, mobilizes communities to prevent youth substance use. The program provides grants to community coalitions to strengthen the infrastructure among local partners to create and sustain a reduction in local youth substance use.
