Ah, the Ben 10K eras…

Classic Ben 10K (Ben 10,000 ep): Hate each other. Rook is a Magister and hates trying to get through to this workaholic that, unfortunately, is practically a superior to him so he can’t fully argue when he takes every case Rook’s division is supposed to be working on Earth and leaves no conflicts for the Plumbers to actually resolve. He and his people just get ordered around by Ben when they respond to an alert when his XLR-8 points at him and tells them to lock up the villain he just beat up before running away to the next crisis or continuing his solo planetary patrol. Ben is just annoyed at the new Magister trying to get him to slow down or let the Plumbers help with anything when Ben has everything covered.

Maybe after 10-year-old Ben stops by and kicks his future self in the ass about his behavior Ben will have mellowed out enough to at least be congenial to the guy, but no Omnihusbands would be happening there. Rook would probably already be married to Rayona and have taken breaks in his career to have had a family with her by then, and with Ben’s attitude the last few years would have probably put in for a transfer to be the Magister of his home world instead of a planet that obviously has enough people taking care of it.

Secondary Classic Ben 10K (Ken 10): This Ben I headcanon as different from the last one because, simply, he bulked up so much and seems more like a second pass at what Classic Ben would grow up into had he met his future self in-between this and UAF. This Ben is more cooperative and willing to work with the Plumbers and other Galactic law enforcement agencies like The Enforcers, so he has a better relationship with his Rook. Probably started off as work friends and became more after Ben turned 31 bc he could finally feel that sense of relief he hadn’t turned into the future he didn’t like as a kid, which quickly spiraled into those two adopting their respective kid a year or two later because they scream “Fell hard and fast” with a real quick, simple traditional wedding. This Rook meets his Ben with a more tempered, heroic idealist view of him and Ben is just very happy to meet someone who’s a part of the Hero Life with a sense of normalcy the other one can appreciate in the downtime those workaholics desperately need.

They adopt one human kid and one Revonnahgander kid; Kenneth and Gwendolyn respectively, though their Revonnahgander daughter picks that name after her Bi’nthak falls off because she finds her aunt crazy cool with all the magic and sorcery and other amazing things Gwen does. They were just absent, unfortunately, for Ken’s 10th birthday party because Revonnah does not have the same solar orbit as Earth so sometimes Rook and Young One have to miss things so she’s not missing Harvest Festivals and time with Rooks side of the family they hardly see outside those events. All in all, happy family and Ben had the adoption papers ready when Devlin fell into their lives. Rook is only mildly bemused coming home to find a new kid suddenly living with them but, honestly, he knows his husband’s soft heart by that point. Plus, Rook is happy building up to a large family and Ben screams adoptive/foster dad to me in vibes when he’s an adult

Ultimate Ben 10K (Ben 10,000 Returns ep): Considering this is a Ben still very much on his ego tripped path to the point of not even transforming anymore and treating his aliens as just their powers, Rook also finds this Ben insufferable and put in for a transfer off planet very quickly after being assigned as his partner. The ego and treatment of Rook and other Plumbers would be worse than what we did get in Omniverse and Rook would not want to handle that. Not that he couldn’t handle it, but it gets to a point where being so far from his home to try and work alongside his hero isn’t worth it and, evidently, his hero is not the person he imagined or a person he enjoys being around.
