If you're ever passin' through a Zone and it just seems to keep streching on and on, don't turn back. Keep running and hit the red line pedal-to-the-metal without worrying about the gas. You won't be certain how long you've driven- somewhere between an eternity and five minutes- but when you finally exit you'll be exactly where you need to be. Never look back, though, no matter what you see in the mirrors- that's how they get you

Sometimes you’ll see a shadow- a glimpse of something- just in the corner of you eye. If it runs away when you turn around, then don’t waste your time following it- she wouldn’t appreciate you chasing her around just because you saw her drop by to check in on you. If it doesn’t go away, then turn away from it, take four steps forward, whisper a prayer to the Witch and run. Don’t try to see if it’s following you- you’ll know when it’s gone

When the sun beats from just the right angle, everything casts a perfectly identical shadow of itself onto the ground. If you look carefully, you can almost make out color in the shadow and it seems more and more like a painting slowly coming along before your eyes as you watch. When you blink it all disappears and you’re disappointed for a moment  before realisng the shadow you’ve been looking at is no more. When you look behind you, you find that you now have two shadows. Beware

When the sky weeps tears of silver and the stars fall from the sky like from a broken glittter tube, the Black Bird will show you the way. Follow her, but don't stray away. The beacons are liars and will leave you in the dark

Don't talk to waveheads beyond the end of daily radiation. They aren't quite human anymore, but they aren't quite belonging to the desert either. It's best to stay away and pray to the Witch your legs will carry you to safety

Listen closely, beta-bug, 'cuz i'll only say this once- the desert is more than battery powered exploders and joyrides on the Getaway Mile. It's alive and breathin' just like you and me, but it isn't anyone's friend, so be careful where you lay down or you may never see alarm clock radiation again

In the Zones you're never alone- a shadow in your 5 o'clock, the silent gaze of the satelites orbiting in the sky, a ghosted rebel's soul stuck in the static white noise. If you look behind you and see something that wasn't there before, turn your head. It's just watching you for now...

If you sit on the edge of Zone Six with the radio on the white noise sounds different- like the static isn't quite the same, like it's whispering things to you. Don't stay in place for too long listening, that's what they want; they want you to join them in the static
