HEâS GRINNING FROM EAR TO EAR, and has been since heâd met up with Omi. So much so that his cheeks are beginning to ache, & yet they continue to joke & poke fun that Yondu canât help but laugh along. Itâs been a long week, he thinks, for both of them --- finding out your friend is an intergalactic criminal may have been a bit of a shock to Omi, & Yondu had been ... worried over their reaction. Not to say that he would ever hide his status or occupation: heâs a proud ravager, through & through, but sometimes that lifestyle doesnât mesh well with those heâd consider friends.
Especially when you end up robbing the museum in which said friend works. So yeah, heâd been worried. And equally relieved to find out that Omi is still willing to continue their friendship --- because theyâre funny & cute & good company, and theyâd hit it off so well that Yondu would be genuinely upset if they didnât want anything to do with him.
Theyâre out for drinks. Joking & laughing. Itâs nice. Normal, even: he imagines this is what regular people do after a long, boring day at work or something. Sit & drink with friends before going home. Except in his case, home is a ship full of space pirates.
Laughter dies down, and the pair take a moment to sip their drinks, smiles still present on their features. After a moment, Yondu looks at them, expression turned somewhat more sincere. âYâknow, Curls, Iâm damn glad yerâ stickinâ around. Didnât know if yâ moral compass would letâchu hang out witâ an outlaw or not.â
