Omen is supposed to be like a "bad end" of FFXV right (or bad-der end, i guess?), basically what would have happened to Noctis if Regis had sent him to meet Lunafreya in Altissia alone

in the Omen trailer, Noct summons each of the other bros' weapons. in order.

first a greatsword

then daggers + a polearm

then various firearms

and he can't win any of his battles using them; he keeps having to run and run until finally he's holding Lunafreya's trident...and he's killed her.

and it's so symbolic, it's like it's visually showing us that Noct can use all these weapons, that he's trained to fight with all of them, but that he'll never actually win a fight without his friends there to wield them

and that he would inevitably have been manipulated had he even tried

It’s for sure now: Ardyn and Regis met each other long before Kingsglaive’s events, and they probably agreed about Noctis’ fate since they didn't have alternatives.

The very specific death the voice requires in Omen is probably Noctis’ one. There’s no doubt about the fact that when Regis says “He will take his responsability, you know.”, he talks about his son. This would explain why this death will bring inner peace to the voice*: if Ardyn kills Noctis by himself or if Noctis dies by accomplishing his task, in any case Ardyn gets what he wants.

It would also explain why Regis then asks for the god’s forgiveness: he’s literally working with Ardyn, the Accursed! He totally knows what’s gonna happen to the world and to his son, but he has no other choice, he has to put his faith into Noctis and accept to rely on Ardyn.

And about the voice itself, it is so distorted that the actor playing it could be anyone, even Ardyn’s performer.

I believe this makes way more sense than Regis speaking with Bahamut! (and it’s far more cool ^^)
