now i’m sure that all -3 of you are really excited to hear me ramble about mikado sannoji- so i’ll just be posting what i really liked about the bad ending and the neo world program… and also one delusional headcanon because I am nothing but a sorrowful person

I LOVED the interactions between the two of them here (I 100% understand why people like the two of them now.. low-key they got a point) Anyways- mikado is just absolutely wonderful- i’m so glad that he’s taken the opportunity to kill everyone- I adore how people make ai characters (CHARACTERS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE AI NOT AI SLOP) i don’t know why but it’s my favorite thing ever and LINUJ nailed it with Mikado- the forever desire to be human.. god i love him so much- I think the entire scene of mikado teasing syobai about being sora was so good… ugh i wish i was smarter so i could explain every single thought i have avkut this scene but alas.. Mikado is such an evil motherfucker- i’m so glad that this did not happen

also this entire scene was so good… the entire adaptation into humanity- guys someone has to make a fic of like a good ending where everyone survives and they somehow get mikado out of the program and he is just the biggest fumbler of all time (this will not be me… I can’t write… :(

Also i think it’s funny that mikado called utsuro boring, he has a very strong type for men who crashout at the bullshit he does…

I thought the entire talk with Utsuro and Sora was very heartwarming though, and the idea that hope is to just keep living is really cute, Utsuro is slowly becoming more of a normal person becayse that’s really all he can do in the program

anyways i am a mikado fan first and he was mentioned quite a bit in this story- so I will talk about that

Mikados cloak being infinite is so fucking funny… by year 50 Sora and Utsuro are just gonna be dripped the fuck out with that ugly ass purple fabric (sorry king)..

ALSO I DONT GIVE A FUCK WHAT SORA SAID MIKADO COULD TECHNICALLY STILL BE EVEN JUST SLIGHTLY ALIVE- guys he laughs sometimes… he must still be somewhat living- please it be so funny i need the 3 of them to be stuck in a program and do fucking nothing..

Anyways for my horrible delulu cope headcanon… what if mikado started like talking after the program could no longer record? I mean there might be a chance that the Kinjo cult is still watching over Sora, Utsuro, and Mikado since like 2 out of the 3 are low-key really bad.. so what if like Mikado didn’t want to be caught being alive in fear of idfk the foundation trying to kill him.. yea it’s like really dumb but man let me cope… also it would be interesting if maybe mikado sent himself to a “Utopia” just like he did with the others- maybe someday he’ll wake up-

I also like the parallels between sora and mikado a lot. I’d like to think that if mikado ever does wake up or something that maybe sora could lock in and fix him a bit.

Uhm yea that’s jt.. don’t expect any like logical thinking from me- that would require for me to put down my very dumb idiot persona and have to actually think about what i am as a person for more than 2 seconds rather and woah man thats a lot coming from a sanniuri shipper… i’m from the absolute depths of the molded barrel so if ur looking for a better analysis then i’m sorry but writing is difficult for me

LINUJ did not fail with Kanade - he succeded, and that's the problem.

This has been bothering me in the back of my mind ever since I saw the Otonokoji Twins omake, unquestionably, disappointingly but unsurprisingly the weakest omake of the whole lot.

Because first of all, it's not a Kanade and Hibiki-focused omake like I was hoping it'd be - it's a Kanade and Syobai-focused omake. Hibiki is officially a nonentity devoid of any authentic characterization to LINUJ at this point, an extension of Kanade in-universe and out of it.

But second of all, I saw that above image of Kanade holding the knife before I got the translated omake, and I was like "Oh shit, do we finally get to see Kanade make an on-screen solo kill?" And it turns out we do not, because what the omake carries over from the big late Chapter 3 reveals and solidifies is this: Kanade Otonokoji is actually shite at killing people because she is a sloppy and stupid character.

I hate to put my girl down like that but it's objectively true!

Syobai's inclusion in this was iffy, but he does establish some useful information and we also get the priceless "Hibiki watches Youtube shorts on her phone" tidbit. The moment the omake actually takes a turn is, of course, when Hibiki's Puppet Mode activates and Kanade sucker punches Syobai with a stun gun. While inevitable, it's what introduces LINUJ's worst concepts for the twins from the main story - Puppet Hibiki and Serial Killer Kanade - into this side story.

But the funny thing about Serial Killer Kanade is that in SDRA2, we only have confirmation of her killing three people (I don't doubt she killed Shiro the puppy, but I mean people here) - Mom and Dad, and Setsuka. And I guess you could count Hibiki too since she made her complicit in killing Setsuka, which led to her being executed along with her, so she's responsible for four deaths. But she claims her body count is up to about 60 people, and we're giving no irrefutable evidence to this claim other than her word, which could easily lead one to suspect she was bullshitting to psyche everyone out and get them to think that she, Miss "I'm so perfect at everything", was the perfect serial killer as well, despite how implausible that seems.

This omake, against LINUJ's intentions, gives credibility to the idea that her claims were false! Because we see her have a man at her complete mercy, and she's holding the knife and saying she's prepared to kill him ….but she doesn't kill him. She makes the cliched fatalistic supervillain error and starts monolouging! She gets chatty with her intended victim to the point of sharing personal details with him and in doing so reveals that she's grown despondent over Hibiki's puppet state and the state of the post-Tragedy world at this point, saying that if some evil mastermind were to start some new killing game in order to unleash large scale global destruciton, she'd sign herself and Hibiki on in a heartbeat. Boom! Syobai's now got leverage that he can use to bargain with Kanade for his life! Her "outsmarting Syobai" (which itself was contrived as fuck because it relied on Syobai stupidly inserting himself into the crowd watching Melody Rhythm perform, and Kanade being freakishly perceptive about every single face in the crowd enough to notice that he wasn't acting like a fan) is now undermined by her own stupidity now allowing Syobai to get the upper hand and talk his way out of being added to her supposedly high body count! When she outed herself as a mass murderer, I got the assumption that she killed in the way the most effective killers do - silent sneak attacks with precision and lethality, ending a life quickly and disposing of the corpse just as quickly, at a time and in a place where the victim is isolated and no one would be able to locate and catch her in the act. But now that we see this, we have to ask: does she just always do this? Does she stun her prey, bind them up, and deliver Hollywood Serial Killer monologues to them and THEN kill them? If so, then that's stupid. She's stupid. (Leon Kuwata voice) Stupidstupidstupidstupid stupid!

It floors me that SDRA2 haters and Kanade haters on here will hate on Kanade because she's an Invincible Villain Sue who LINUJ apparently successfully wrote as too OP and hyper competent to be truly defeated when in actuality, what LINUJ put into Chapter 3 and this omake is an Idiot Houdini of a killer - one who makes rank amateur mistakes and is protected from the consequences only by the will of a writer that favors her and what he can write her doing to make Plot happen. And this all comes back to one fact - that LINUJ wanted Kanade Otonokoji to be his game's very own Korekiyo Shinguji. Just like Korekiyo, Kanade is written in a certain way as a very particular and very solidly defined character (the Mikan-esque twin sister of Hibiki who when in intense or inebriating situations shows her true colors as a half Byakuya, half Kokichi insufferably brilliant and snarky asshole gremlin) until we reach Chapter 3, or more specifically the Trial and Post-Trial phase of Chapter 3 that clarifies what happened beforehand in the chapter, reveals who did the crime and why, and turns our understanding of the Blackened on its head because out of fucking nowhere that Blackened shifts into being a character that they were not before and were seldom ever foreshadowed to be - both Kiyo and Kanade are suddenly depraved serial killers who supposedly have a high bodycount of offscreen past victims and have committed these murders for the same motive: incestuous love for their sister (only Kiyo does it for his dead sister in order to "send friends to her in the afterlife" whereas Kanade does it for her living sister that she wants to control). And their previously displayed high IQs are overshadowed by them acting erratic and crazy in the campy, stereotypical psychotic killer way you see in media all the damn time. So we're left feeling like an interesting character was taken away from us by the revelation that said interesting character was never who that character actually was, and in their place stands a much dumber and more boring character who exists to shock, horrify, and disgust before they are promptly done away with in an execution. And since it's that second characerization, the "real Kanade", that we see show up in this omake, all that shit carries over and we have to relive the epic letdown all over again.

But to get at what I meant by the title? It's just that - LINUJ wanted to replicate Korekiyo. He wanted to do Kodaka one better and make his Surprise Serial Killer extra sick and horrifically vile while also a super special awesome mega genius level nigh unstoppable badass to make her a worthy "final boss" for Sora to face at the end of the story's first half. Every scrap, setpiece, and element of "bad writing" connected to Kanade's character is not bad writing by mistake, it is bad writing by intent. By choice. Kodaka did Korekiyo dirty with bad writing so it made LINUJ, who mistook that for good writing due to how effective the surprised and horrified emotions it stirred, want to do Kanade dirty with bad writing too, and he took great pains to write his way to that twist reveal. So every contrivance that works in Kanade's favor, every character who gets nerfed or benched when the needs of Kanade's arc have to be met, every thing that added up to turn Kanade into a black hole of stupid, every feat she's capable of that makes her an OP Villain Sue, everything Hibiki's character suffered in order for Kanade to be elevated - all of it is by design. It's deliberate. It's a feature rather than a bug. It's all because the madlad LINUJ just had to have his Korekiyo 2.0.
