send  “  who  did  this  to  you  ?  ”  for  the  sender  to  find  the  receiver  injured  and  demand  to  know  who  did  it.

Instantly, he is met with concern from the woman as she takes in his injured appearance. The clear purple bruise on his cheek, the blood smeared across his bottom lip, as well as the way he leans to one side as if favoring it, as if unwilling to put his weight fully on his other side because it hurts. There are injuries underneath that she cannot see, but his healing factor has already kicked in, healing the worst of the injuries first. 

It’s always a weird experience to feel skin literally mend itself back together. Unfortunately, his side had met the sharp end of a blade. It looks worse than it is, given how blood is soaking his shirt a crimson color. The wound isn’t bleeding anymore, the serum inside of him already having healed it up enough that he’s not in danger of bleeding out. 

“It’s nothing.” Bucky answers in a tone that’s all too sharp, defensive, like a wounded animal snapping too fast at someone who dares get close enough to hurt it. It’s not nothing. No one gets the drop on the infamous Winter Soldier like this without being extremely skilled but the threat is gone. It’s over. He doesn’t need someone treating him like he’s fragile and made of glass. He can tend to his own wounds, thank you very much, he doesn’t need her protection. 

Besides, why is she feeling so protective? They don’t know each other like that. Not like he knows Steve, or Yelena, or even Walker. He’d treat them the last two the same way, too, refusing their help. Steve, on the other hand, is  a different story. However, Steve isn’t here right now. It’s just the two of them and Bucky doesn’t know how to feel about the way she seems to want to tear apart whoever did this to him. He can feel it radiating off of her. 

There is something about the woman before him that feels familiar. He knows here from somewhere but he can't place it. Bucky felt it the moment he laid eyes upon her, the sneaking suspicion that he's met her before that he just can't shake. A pull, much like the pull he had with Steve that told his broken mind that there was a past here. 

Is it possible that he has a past with her too? If so, why hasn't she said anything? She goes on pretending as if they don't know each other, Bucky can't figure out why. What he can figure out, however, is how she's feeling. Lonely. Bucky knows that feeling well, and something about her makes him want to reach out. 

Which is strange considering he's avoided her since the moment he saw her at the Avengers tower. Purposefully. As if spooked by the idea of facing a past with this woman, and she's so unreadable to him currently. She gives nothing away that might tell him if they've had positive or negative interactions. 

Bucky desperately wants to know more but doesn't quite know how to go about asking. 

So, he gently reaches out, offers a friend. It's laughable because Bucky's not even sure he knows what it feels like to be a friend. Once upon a time, he was very clearly a good one to someone like Steve. But, does he know how to be a good friend now? Only one way to find out, he supposes. 

The look in her eyes. This woman is trouble. Bucky shouldn't be intrigued by that and yet, that look in her eyes draws him in like a moth to a flame. It's all mischief and as much as he wants to walk away, as much as he tells himself he doesn't need trouble in his life, he finds himself completely frozen in his spot. 

It helps that she does not back away from him or seem affected in any way by him. She's not afraid of him when so many others would be. There are people he meets on the streets to this day who flinches away from him. Those who knows the stories of the vicious Winter Soldier. He's not that man anymore and yet so many treat him that way. He can't blame them, not really, but it is refreshing that she meets his gaze instead of flinches away from him. 

What making you say that? 

Bucky pauses, unsure of how to answer the question. "I recognize the feeling." He leaves it vague. 'Feeling' could mean anything, but he knows that she'll likely catch on without him having to say it. She seems smart, she'll be able to conclude that he's talking about that dark void of loneliness that buries itself deep into what feels like the very marrow of your bones. 

"Am I wrong?" Bucky challenges with an arch of an eyebrow before blue eyes flicker down to the thermos and he shakes his head back and forth in a polite decline, brown longish locks swaying with the movement. "No. Thank you, though." Call it an instinctual ingrained need to be cautious, but he doesn't normally drink out of things he doesn't know where it's been. He doubts she's of harm to him and yet, he cannot stand to accept a unknown thermos from a stranger.

From Marshall's perspective it wasn't odd to find alternate universes and alien species. but this was ridiculous!

"Wraps are you serious right now? You're the magic guy, this should of been your job."

"Rumble I'm busy with about 20 other atrocities. This should be simple--all you have to do is find my magical relic, it's a purple gem that bestows the power of telekinesis, it dropped somewhere around here. But easier for you, I placed a magic tracker on you to find it and furthermore because of your powers it won't work on you if someone tries to use it. Find it and bring it back."

Marshall scoffs with a smirk. "Convicting argument wraps...so lay low, grab the rock and you'll teleport me back home. Gotcha..." With a sigh Marshall would make his way through the town. Suddenly he'd hear an explosion go off, turning he'd just dodge a thrown ...hero? A lizardman in a pink dress shirt sailed past him into a car.

"Sweet talker!" A woman with pom pom's called out before charging at the villain a man with stone skin would toss her as well before turning to Marshall. "Ah a civic good, hand over your money and no one gets hurt."

Marsh would just smile at him, one where it didn't quite reach his eyes, the villain fed up reaches up as the two heroes yell out in protest, the villain slams his arms down on the hero. A violent shake, the buff man is suddenly pushed off as something in Marshall's place started to grow bigger and bigger before roaring at the criminal. "Nice hit, my turn." Lifting a leg up, he'd stomp down on the villain, ending the battle in one go. "Down for the count already? ha laaame!"His dinosaur form still had his jacket draped over it's shoulders, his strength overwhelming.
