Context: I run an Alec Hardy ask blog (@detective-inspector-hardy)

I don't know if anyone other than myself has noticed but I've sort of slowly been building an "alec-goes-to-therapy" arc over the course of the last few answers - he started by having no interest in it, and we've gradually seen him considering it and now he's actually gone and done it.

This is a bit of a weird answer so I wanted to explain it a bit: the first part, about only going to shut people up, hopefully seems not true. Its a bluff to explain to himself why he's actually going through with it, because he doesn't think it's actually worth his time/finds reaching out for help embarrassing. We know that he struggles to admit when he needs help and prefers to keep (even potentially life-threatening) issues to himself.

The middle section is in chronological order. When he was with Tess, she suggested he go. He says "a body" because he's not going to directly say that he found Pippa's body on a tumblr post, but we all know it's Pippa's body. Then he mentions Miller also talking about mental health around him, in a way suggesting he seeks out help for it. Then, finally, he mentions Daisy talking to him about it.

My hope is that this implies that Daisy mentioning it to him is what pushed him to actually go through with it - he's heard it from people before, which is the slow build up of him sort of considering it, and then now that his own daughter is suggesting it he actually does go.

(Last part is a dumb reference to Aubrey Thyme, Crowley's therapist in Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma)

I am trying to get back into the habit of visiting and using this blog again. It's been ~3-4 years so I'm not sure how many of you are still here, but looking back at this blog I really had a lot of fun back then!
