the holiday season was always a busy time for the shop. it seemed no matter where oli and his parents were based, they always got an overwhelming surplus of customers. that was why he took up a few more hours each day in order to help out. it did take away from his time with brandon, but he knew his fiancé would understand. and of course, he already had a plan to make it up to him. that afternoon his dads let him leave early, and so he took full advantage of the spare time. he raced home and gave the dogs a walk around the property. once they all settled down and started to eat, he got to work on dinner. he was making brandon's favorite, and wanted everything ready by the time he got home -in case he wanted desert, first-. he was adding some finishing touches to the two dishes when the dogs alerted him that the other was pulling up. he untied his apron in the back and set it down on the counter, fixing his hir as he waited for the front door to open.
