I’m 6 days late to start my 30/30 so I’m going to have to overcompensate somehow. I’ll figure that out later for now here is my first piece of the month. 

6 Days: For an Old Lover 

You are still looking at my palms 

We are already 15 minutes into the 

our date and you are too busy 

looking at my hands to 

notice the hour I spent on my face 

Too busy to appreciate the time 

it took to find the perfect combination of clothing 

Instead, you are mesmerized by my palms 

the life lines

When I ask you, ego wounded 

Why my hands?

my nail bit too far down 

red and cramped 

you tell me you want to know 

the objects that will love you most 

Tell me that I am a woman who 

loves with her palms 

How do you this? 

You say it's because

you can see all the faces 

I will caress 

the arms I’ve held 

and your own hands 

our lifeline 

entangled
