I was chilling here on the deck and listening to my mom read out all my furiends’ IG feed when we came across @jonathans.journal post about our lives prior to rescue. I know my mom has also wondered what my puppyhood was like and how I ended up with my @rileycountyhs foster back in 2007. I’m an old guy now, so those memories are fuzzy. I am glad I had a couch to crash on before the ice storm hit that year, though. I was afraid I might lose the old guy the other day. He had an emergency trip to the vet because his wound was infected. Fortunately they cut out the growth in his neck and sewed him back up. He is doing much better. Poor guy is just so wore out from surgery. He took his antibiotic like a good boy this morning and went for a short walk to do his business. He scratched through his bandage so I had to clean the poor old pup up again. Gave home a bath and cleaned the wound well. He gets so dirty so quickly because he's ridin low. Boy did he have some dirt on him. Put ointment on his wound and bandaged him back up. He's been pretty sleepy today probably from blood loss and because poor guy is so old. Well I'm back home from spending time with my old buddy. He has not been doing to well. He's got a soar on his neck that got infected pretty bad and he won't stop scratching. So I've fixed him up the past couple days keeping the wound clean and bandages on that keep him from scratching it into a bloody mess. He felt much more comfortable and fell right to sleep. Now I'm home and getting ready for bed after checking In with my fish family. They all seem to be doing well and are happy. Well I hope y'all had an excellent holiday and family reunions and such.
