Wanted to draw Rin older (20?) as I want to do with all characters. Of course that meant I made his hair longer, which meant I was thinking of ways he keeps it back (’specially when he cooks). Bun? Ponytail? He definitely uses The Clip for his bangs. That’s forever.

He seems the type to have chin scruff all the time. Too lazy to shave; no matter how much Lightning turned him off to the look he finds himself following that particular shave habit.

 During the time of the Blue Night, Satan murdered a huge number of the world's greatest holy men, in order to find someone who he could possess without any ill effects to save Yuri Egin, who was going to be executed by the Vatican for being impregnated by him. Shiro Fujimoto and Mephisto Pheles were ordered by Yuri's father, Ernst Frederik Egin, to go find and kill her and Satan's children. They found Yuri within the forest with her newborn twins, whom she named Rin and Yukio , and she soon died of childbirth. Instead of killing the twins, Shiro decided to seal Rin's Demonic powers within the Demon-slaying blade Kurikara with the help of Mephisto, and raise Yuri's children as his own. Mephisto then made a deal with Fujimoto that if he doesn't succeed in raising the twins as normal children and if Rin's Demon powers ever came out, they will be under his custody.

In his childhood, Rin led a normal human life, but his strength and temper seemed unnatural, so all the children and even teachers feared him and thought of him as a Demon, throwing slangs such as 'Demon child.' He got into fights often and injured all his classmates, and the only one who could stop him was Shiro. Rin always admired Shiro and wanted to become like him when he grew up. Rin always protected Yukio from bullies and encouraged him to chase his dream. Also in his youth, Rin learned how to cook, which became his natural talent. 

At the age of fifteen, through a series of unfortunate events and discovering his demon nature, he landed himself in True Cross Academy. 

Three Years Later

It has been three years since Rin Okumura had been attending True Cross Academy. While his adventures there have been anything short of dull--his progression over the past two year have been breath-taking. The Okumura most of you already know is the first year. Reckless, rash, rude. While he is still most of these things now--he gives them off in smaller doses. These days he is far more kind, more intellectual, and even mature. How did he become this upstanding, Upper 2nd class Knight? Why, he defeated Satan, of course. Well as much as one could defeat a god of Gehenna. Satan continues to be an on again off again 'threat' but not in the sense of their first battle. In their first battle Rin barely won by the skin of his teeth. An ordeal he doesn't like to talk about. Not only because he barely considered it a win but also because Yukio suffered extending damage from the battle. Damage and scars Rin blames himself for. But enough of the past! Lets talk about the here and now! 

Now Rin is a full fledged exorcist. Both a Tamer and Knight. When not attending classes at the academy he is on rather lengthier missions. Such missions that can last months at a time. Even leading some of them. Though these days he prefers the more peaceful approach. While his younger brother is still his superior--he too is surprise that Rin is still on the road to be Paladin. Which only seems to please Mephisto with every class graduation.

Against Rin’s wishes, at the age of nineteen, he had hit another demon natured road block. A demon maturity of sorts. More of his demonic features became evident. ie fangs, claws, ears, ect. However what he was not expecting was the urge to turn into something more. An urge he couldn’t fight in the midst of sleeping. Often waking up to what appeared to be scales and black claws.
