Interesting fact about me, I love to collect dolls. The older the better, and I have always loved Raggedy Anns anyway since I was a kid. Who remembers Raggedy Ann and Andy’s Musical Adventure…I do…great movie. Moving on…these are my newest finds. The Andy is a Knickerbocker, and a super good boy, but the Ann is a bit rarer. She is a Georgene Raggedy Ann, which I’ve been looking for at sales for a while now. She is Pre War from about 1938. Unmarked, I took a chance that I was right about her not just being another Knickerbocker, I love those…but I do have a few by now. I am so proud of this find, these girls can be pretty expensive and the owner of the sale did not seem to know what he had. Old dolls are so cool, with all of their battle scars, and she has a few (pretty sure one leg has been reattached, plus she is missing her apron) but to me that means that she has been super loved before me and probably had many adventures…I love imagining what the child who had her before might have played with her (I fed my childhood Raggedy Ann pizza while watching Raggedy Ann and Andy’s Musical Adventure…). What does every scar and stain mean…who was the kid who loved her so long ago…and what happened to the apron…I’ll never know, but that adds to the mystery of being a collector of old crap. #raggedyann #raggedyandy #raggedyannandandy'smusicaladventure #olddolls
