it almost made me tear up because when i dressed that way there was no tiktok and it wasnβt normalized in any second
i got bullied to the core and seeing kids now being able to wear it makes me actually very happy tbh
i dress so boring now and sometimes miss it but i feel too old to dress that way nowπ

and i also miss being a scene kid so much like it wasnβt a good time because of the bullying but i loved every inch of dressing how i wanted
I cannot wait for the day that those people who harass younger goths, particularly teenagers, try that shit on an elder goth. Shalt be a startling realisation for them I believe.

I honestly hate how emo and scene seem to be grouped together now. Like yeah, sure, they're both alt, but they are very much different subgroups of alternative. I hate how emo is basically dead, and I blame TikTok and consumerism and them thinking that they were the same. If you try to look up emo you don't get pictures of it at all, all you get is scene. Emo is mostly black if very little color. Scene is pretty much the opposite. Grunge is totally different too, same with goth. It's only people who never understood these different subgenres of alternative that would think they are all the same thing.
Am I the only one who sees it?
Iβm at a show where the whole crowd is over 40 goths who are really feeling themselves and tumblr, let me promise you, life continues to be fun even when youβre old if you let it.
