On the next episode of Old Enough! this little tyke is assigned to stomp Tokyo flat as his first errand.
I know it’s a reality show and they alert almost everyone in the vicinity and do a lot of prep and the kids are never actually alone but the kids don’t know that
My absolute favorite thing about Old Enough! is the camera crew sprinting after the kids when they go off running and struggling to keep up

Why can’t Americans just accept that other countries that have different customs and cultures are not bad and that just because something is different doesn’t mean it’s bad?!
I was reading the comments for the long-standing popular Japanese show “Old Enough” that just got onto Netflix and Americans suddenly learn about the long-standing Japanese tradition in their culture of promoting independence at a young age through their first errand and suddenly they cannot FATHOM how In Japan adults can just “let” kids do something “so dangerous” 🙄 and some get personally offended?!
There are some Americans that literally cannot IMAGINE that the public can be even safe enough for little kids to be unsupervised, even for a little while, and that adult strangers could be friendly, helpful and trustworthy to a child without malicious intent.
We don’t live in a more collectivist society like Japan and kids here are literally taught to be suspicious of every single stranger and treat them as they are potentially dangerous kidnappers.
It just annoys me to read all these comments of ignorant Americans who don’t take a few seconds to read anything about the show and a country’s customs making ignorant criticisms saying that “this show is maliciously making kids do things they don’t want to do for adult entertainment” (actual quote) when in reality, they could have just spent a few SECONDS googling it before making such an ignorant American-centric comment with their virtue-signaling “outrage” and concern about the children.
I am crying 🤣
