followed by megumi slowly, slooowly helping yuuji move on, being his best friend, his pillar when his life feels oh so lonely only to have that progress ripped apart and nulled to zero when yuuta came to visit yuuji AGAIN. Just... one random night, at 2 am when megumi is leaving, seeing yuuta on top of the stairs about to walk to Yuuji's apartment door.
Megumi tells him to leave, he tells him to not touch that fucking door but what can he do? One knock and it opened. Yuuta asks Yuuji if he... wants him to leave? Because he will leave if Yuuji tells him to. In that sweet, gentle, broken tone paired with those pretty crocodile tears brimming in his eyes...
And Megumi knows what he'll say, Yuuji's non-answer and his empty reassurance of "i'll be fine fushiguro" followed by him being absolutely NOT fine. him being broken the next day as if he was back on yuuta's wedding reception again, and yuuta will go home after cheating still pretty much married, and then?
