Huhu, I finally finished the drawing! The colours are much more darker than my usual artworks but that’s the price of Smogulous Smog. It’s an illustration of Once-ler but in an Okir-inspired style.
The fire thing was mostly from a large amount of people headcanoning that a fire burned the factory downed, hence why the valley is black and dusty. Plus it makes for a good colour pop and gives me an excuse to desaturate Once-ler’s colour palette more than usual.
Oh and have this old thing — it’s 1 year old. It was my first attempt that lead to many other drawings — still rotting in my folders — that I have yet to release. The style is very different, the lineart is much more eccentric. I kinda miss the old style ahah. But it was fun to pick up this old method.
The #Tausug #Panumping is a tin or pasteboard crown worn by #Pangalay dancers or brides. The word panumping comes from the word "sumping" which means flowers, as the crown is in a floral motif (probably based on the #lotus) that is native to the #Philippines called #okir. It comes with an accompanying hairpin called #suksuk, which seems to mean "to stick in" as it is stuck in women's hair buns. . Repost @day_breaking
I said something about Okir awhile ago, and since my feed is filled with CR now. The moment seems like a good time to post these since they’ve been in my folders for half a year. They’re basically Cookie Run themed Character Cards but done in the Okir-inspired style, they also come with little mini versions but with titles.
Peppermint is Searcher because of their unending journey of wanting to uncover the truth of SeaFairy.

With the pandemic going on I’ve stepped back to make space for other artists whose art is their sole income. Stepping back has also squashed my momentum. My #etsyshop is still open but I will probably not be pushing much to sell. I will be taking this time to get to work on some projects I’ve had on my list for years, and hopefully to find my stride again. I’ve had some #cowhorn for a few years and was looking for the right project. I think I’ve found it! Since barbershops are closed my hair has gotten longer than I normally keep it so I’ve been looking for my comb which I couldn’t find so I decided to make some out of horn. I just started learning about #okir designs from the Southern Philippine islands (Mindinao) AND just found out that the design was used on textiles and also combs! Here are my ideas so far, we’ll see how they come out!
