1.Favorite fic you wrote this year.Honestly, for a good long while it was Conscience Killer, but Whistle for the Choir is pretty near and dear to me as well because it’s so different from anything I’ve attempted before. My children! I love them both, don’t make me choose.

2. Least favorite fic you wrote this year.Do Something. It’s not that I hate it, but it’s not a very nice fic and I just don’t have the level of excitement and attachment that I have for any/all of my others.

3. Favorite line/scene you wrote this year.From Conscience Killer, this still amuses me a lot :D :Dee and Dennis wrestling over his dick like a couple of kids fighting over the last fudgesicle is bizarre as shit; he can’t deny that. But maybe this isn’t happening at all. Yeah, maybe it ain’t. Oh, shit, he thinks, what if they’re not even here, and this fucked up shit-show is just some sick fantasy that’s been lurking deep down inside? He’s in no state to unravel any of that now. Or maybe ever. God, what he wouldn’t give for a popper to clear his head.

14. A fic you didn’t expect to writeWhistle for the Choir. If you’d told me this time last year I’d be writing TLOG fic, I’d have went pfffffffffffffft. Firstly, I’m American and was terrified at the idea of doing middle-aged northern British ladies. And it’s so much more comedy than I’m ever used to. All my solo projects, tend to go emo or serious dark, and this was the lightest thing I’d ever attempted. I’m so fucking glad I did though, because the response has been better than I’d dreamed and I’m pretty pleased with it. Smol toot. (Close runnerup is Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo. Sex doll orgy is preeeetty unexpected :D)

15. Something you learned this year.I can write quick! I’ve always been someone who wrote very ponderously, mostly because I’d let an idea gestate for ages before really committing. This year I wrote a 1300-word fic in essentially a day, while sick as a dog to boot. Showed me that I’m capable of really buckling down and an idea - and a strong voice - grab hold.

19. Any new fics to start the new year?Just the thrillingly filthy conclusion to Evol! After that, who knows. Half the fun is getting whacked in the face with an idea that’s itching to be explored.

21. Most memorable comment or review.I cherish every one of your night brain efforts, my dear dear sausage. This one makes me grin as much as you apparently did reading the fic, cos a real live Brit ordained my attempts at League glory:

13. Describe your writing process from idea to polished

A) Get idea and jot. It's usually a fully formed bit of dialogue or a few nice sentences. B) Let it sit until I get inspired to go somewhere with it.C) At some point, I'll actually decide it's a thing that's gonna happen and nail down plot - maybe even make an outline. A very loose one.D) From there it's just filling in the gaps until it's done. And then re-reading a whole lot to make sure it doesn't sound dumb.E) Publish and feel sick. Yay14.  How do you deal with self-doubts?I nag you praise and reassurance usually.15.  How do you deal with writer’s block?I like to read old stuff as a way of shaking loose a little self confidence. Like, eyyy that line was pretty darn good, I ain't too bad! And like with Sunny I watch some eps and try to immerse myself in whatever voice I'm going for, and that usually helps a lot.

17.  What writing habits or rituals do you have?None really. I mean, I've gotta have coffee before anything will come out of the ol brain, but beyond that, nada.

21.  Who is/are your favourite character(s) to write?It's actually Dennis. >.< I don't know what that says about me. But his exaggerated egomania is an absolute blast to write because I can go as dark and as vain as can be. The freedom! Ahhhh I love one (1) bastard man.22.  Who is/are your favourite pairing(s) to write?Well, Pauline and Bernice were a hell of a lot of fun to do, but I don't know if I'll ever do them again, so I'll go with Charlie and Dee. Their dynamic can be a lot of fun, and I've had a pretty easy time writing them as well. 25.  Favourite part of writingGetting down a bit of dialogue and feeling kinda clever because you're pretty sure you nailed the character, and then after you publish somebody comments that you got the characterization perfect. Just ugh a;slkhgg best feeling.27.  Favourite line/sceneRight now, it's this exchange from Whistle for the Choir:“Aye, gimme my bag there, love,” Pauline says. She fishes around for a moment before triumphantly pulling out a 5-and-a-half-inch long pink, tapered Biro.“It’s a pen.” With the click of a flat, silver button on the side, the thing buzzes to life. “And,” Pauline says with no small amount of pride, “a vibrator. Had it special made.”Christ on a cracker. “You fucking pervert. Give it here then.”“Ah, ah, ah. I don’t let just anyone touch my pens. You can watch,” she says with a wink.

32.  Most difficult character to writeCharlie will forever be the most difficult. I never have the feeling that I'm nailing it, because he's just got such a particular way about him. Writing drugged up, zany characters is haaaard. The end.

34.  What was the hardest scene you ever had to write?I still think space Lenny from Birb Ch 5 is what I've struggled with most. At the time, it was so hard to get into that fever-dream mindset. My brain is far too straight-edge I guess. (I like to think I could have an easier go of it if I had it to do over today, but eh who knows.)
