this is a post about two really great people named tess and alison.
tess was my very first tumblr friend. i am pretty sure we became friends because of harry potter. she was also the first person i ever met in real life after becoming friends on the internet and she is (surprisingly) even smaller than me. tess is one of those people who just really feels like a big sister to me because she's the support i can always count on if i feel like my life is in shambles. and i feel like this has always drawn me to her because although we're far apart in age and circumstances, as the oldest of three, i've never really had anyone to watch as they went through life, and i feel like tess has been through so much and has experienced lots of life things, and i just really admire her for her attitude and how she stays so very true to herself even when the going gets tough. so thank you, tess, for being my honorary big sister and for just being a really superior human being.
alison is tess's best friend and actually such a great part of my life. for some reason we clicked very easily and see things very similarly, which i think is really rare. we have lots of talks about food and our bodies and fun stuff like ireland but when i'm really flipping out about where my life is headed, ali tends to calm me down and remind me that i'm only 20 and i don't need to have it all figured out yet. another really great thing about ali is her confidence - and she's helped me to be a lot more confident too. there's nothing wrong with realizing how great you are and what your best qualities are and she helped me see that and embrace it. thank you ali for helping me see the best in myself, and for teaching me to not be afraid to shine.
basically tess and ali are like the older sisters i never had. i love hearing about their lives, the good and the bad, and how they get from one day to the next and i feel pretty lucky to know them. sometimes they don't have it all together and they remind me that that's totally okay. i get lost in thinking that adulthood is going to be just how i pictured it, but life isn't always perfect and their lives aren't perfect but they're happy. like the real kind of happy. and in my time being friends with them both, i've learned a lot about how to transition into adulthood through all the craziness. thank you guys for being a constant source of inspiration. i know you feel lost sometimes but just know that i look up to you both a lot and in the time we've known each other you've taught me so much. i love you!!!!!
