this was not how cleo would’ve preferred to spend her night. she glanced around at the dimly lit dive bar. basically a relic in this city. of course she sat at the actual bar because if she was gonna be here rather than her favorite way-too overpriced, way-too exclusive, club than she was going to be sitting front and center. well, she’d rather be here than at home with the cats but even nursing her drink and watching the people behind her play pool she felt an itch for something more. after-all it wasn’t a night out if no one was there to photograph it or if she ended the night without a massive bruise on her leg from falling on the concrete or up the stairs. 

however, this? was meeting in the middle. and cleo couldn’t afford to make everything all about her and what she wanted all the time or she’d lose a friend like josephine and be left once again to troll this city looking for her latest bff. none of which seemed to stick after well--- after. and josephine was lovely, just different than cleo. opposites attract right? and opposites keep her from making a fool of herself at the previously mentioned way-too exclusive club. she threw back the rest of her drink and bobbed her head a little, looking through the haze that had fallen for a head of blonde hair. she knew she’d be fine and would stop thinking of a million other situations to be in once she wasn’t alone anymore. an unfortunate quirk.
