Okay, first of all: that story kicked ass. Super Sonic and Super Eggman fighting in the ruins of station square, Eggman summoning phantom ruby manifestations of Perfect Chaos to attack Sonic and then Sonic just no selling it, Sonic explaining IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS what the power of his Super form and the chaos emeralds means. Sonic criticizing Eggmans excuse that he was making happy worlds that everyone enjoyed and that didn't erase the real world, and Sonic refutes that by pointing out those worlds are the world's inside of people's hearts and he exposed them to the world when they should have remained personal and internal. Sonic chasing Eggman down through countless phantom worlds, Eggman trying to convince Sonic to let him keep up the false Ogiri by bribing him with a Green Hill that is made of chili dogs. The ultimate Evil Cannot Comprehend Good moment =P

And then after the fight, the Ogiri versions of the cast enjoying a meal together including Elise, and Tikal and Chaos making the pizzas<3 then a sad moment where Tikal realizes that unlike everyone else, they'll disappear for real. But Sonic reassures her by saying she'll always live on in his heart, that's where her memory came from and that's where it will return to once the phantom world disappears.

The ending where Eggman has a backup ruby and Infinite appears and swipes it is obviously a scene of Ogiri Idol Infinite doing so, just as everyone else was their Ogiri selves who disappeared such as hero Vector and mafia don Big ect. Tikal makes it clear that everyone else is disappearing and simply returning back to their regular selves in the real world. Infinite disappearing doesn't imply his Real Self is dead, everyone disappears from the Ogiri as the phantom illusion starts to fade away. Infinite no more died than Vector did.

The final scene is meant to just be a bit of humorous denouement complete with Curb Your Enthusiasm theme playing lol. Hence "and thus the world was saved by a coincidence nobody knew about."
