@ofsendings inquired: “ there’s no turning back . ”
ルールー If only she knew just how wrong she was in that sentiment. How at any point she chose, even now, standing on the precipice of obtaining the Final Aeon and having every single tool available to them to defeat Sin, Yuna still had the option of turning back.
She wouldn't, though. It wasn't in her nature to give up.
No, Yuna wouldn't be able to live with herself if she turned tail and ran now. She would feel that she was letting down her father in some way, that she wasn't living up to his legacy, not to mention the fact that Yuna also knew that even if she were to turn back, another summoner would be hot on her heels and just as quick to take her place.
Someone else would die in her stead.
❝ Yuna, I— ❞ Whatever words had formed in her mind had died the moment they had reached her throat. She knew she would just be repeating the same things she had said so long ago, and that it would be a waste to try and say them all over again. Of course she wanted to change her mind, wanted to beg and plead with her to return to Besaid, to live her life to the fullest for as long as she could... that she simply wasn't ready to lose the only sister she had ever known. It would be for naught. Her words would be heard, for Yuna never turned a deaf ear to someone, but her own convictions simply would not allow her to stop.
❝ You're right. There's no turning back. Head up, shoulders back, and walk with absolute certainty; show you are worthy to receive this final blessing. ❞
