         (    ↻    )    she sets down the small lantern she brought with her.  the power had yet to go out but she’d prefer to not be caught unawares.  “  i expected that we’d be snowed in for days but the sensationalism is driving me mad,  ”  freya comments.  “  though i suppose it’s to be expected  everything is sensationalized nowadays.  maybe now you’ll get some of that peace and quiet you were talking about during the holidays.  ”

         (    ↻    )    “  i should’ve left for LA when i had the chance,  ”  sloane lets out a dramatic sigh.  she leans back on the couch and slumps forward as if to drive the point home.  “  i’m used to snow and cold weather and all.  ”  she’s from chicago for crying out loud  !  “  but i feel like i’ve just been spoiled by how perfect california weather tends to be.  ”

         (    ↻    )    “  do you mind if we share a table  ?  ”  lari asks,  approaching serena’s table.  with the blizzard warning,  the cafe is even more crowded than usual.  “  i guess everyone has the same idea to grab a drink and hang out here. i could’ve sworn it’s not usually this crowded.  ”

          (    ↻    )    “  i never got to ask,  ”  hayden starts, setting down two mugs of hot tea on the coffee table.  “  how are you liking new york so far  ?  you’ve been here a couple months already so i feel like i can probably get a better answer.  i know it’s always a mixed bag when people move out here,  ”  she takes a seat on the couch and moves to grab one of the mugs.  “  also,  i am apologizing for the past and in advance for my early morning schedule.  i hope i haven’t been too loud with all the walking back and forth and the coffee making.  ”

         (    ↻    )    “  didn’t  feel  like  playing  bartender  tonight  ?  ”  teagan  playfully  jests.  she  hands  cosima  a  drink  before  taking  a  seat  next  to  her  roommate.  “  as  far  as  holiday  parties  go,  this  isn’t  terrible.  i  also  wasn’t  expecting  for  there  to  be  a  party  if  i’m  being  honest.  ”
