she stopped on the sidewalk, paused on her typical stroll over to the library at the sight of the man in front of her. she should have just kept walking, the polite voice in her head said, but tessa couldn’t bring herself to listen to it. instead she spoke abruptly, training her narrowed eyes on the man that had caught her eye. “you have those tattoos. i’ve seen them before.” maybe it was too blunt, but really tessa was walking on eggshells, only small parts of her memories available and the rest just a pile of things that felt familiar. the tattoos felt familiar, so she wasn’t going to just let them out of her sight. “i know what they are i just.” she frowned at the man, eyes focused hard on the marks in front of her, but it ultimately didn’t give her any clarity. she groaned, ultimately just shaking her head in frustration. what was she thinking? this wasn’t actually helping, it never had. “sorry, i shouldn’t have bothered you.” tessa said, frustrated and tired and ready to walk away from this all before she made a fool out of herself. “i have a friend i can ask about it anyway. magnus will know.” surely he could tell her, and that hopefully wouldn’t be too directly about her memories, so she wouldn’t feel weird going to him for answers.
