Hello God, It’s Me Emma Winchester
Looking over at her, Chuck saw how she resembled Castiel with that head tilt. Or rather, so many of his angels, always vaguely curious but not quite sure how to show it in this human world for it was one thing to have watched for thousands upon thousands of years; it was another to have interacted.
“Lonely? Why would it get lonely? I can have anything and anyone I ever need. Go anywhere I want to go.” Chuck had never considered himself to be lonely, at least–not since the very, very beginning, when it had been just him and his sister, and it… wasn’t enough, not after awhile. He needed more.
So he made, and he created, and he never really stopped.
“Loneliness implies I’m without anyone and I have all the worlds at my disposal.”
Emma had not existed for thousands upon thousands of years, in fact she had yet to even reach her first birthday despite appearing to be in her late teens thanks to her Amazon heritage. Rather, she had picked up the curious look from the angel that kept a close watch on her father. Almost like an uncle, really... and wouldn’t that make the deity that stood before her a sort of grandfather to her. Man... her life was just weird. So very weird.
“Sometimes, people get lonely even when they’re surrounded by others,” Emma points out logically, giving a small shrug. “And from what I understand you sort of isolated yourself while you were writing the Carver Edlund books... so I couldn’t help but wonder. I’m glad you weren’t lonely.”
A small smile curled up the corners of her mouth. Oh, she had devoured those books when she had first found them, wanting to know all about Dean and Sam, what her father and uncle had been through before she had met them. It wasn’t as though they were all that eager to share the stories themselves after all. “How many worlds are there? Do you have a favorite?”
