Stede's little secret gets exposed... my piece for @dippkip 's and I's collab fic "The Eddystone Light", for @ofmd-reverse-bang !!

An illustration I did as part of an @ofmd-reverse-bang collaboration with @cannebady. They wrote Your Needs, My Needs to go with this, so as I'm sure you can imagine, it's filled with lots of beautiful yearning and tension and heat.

“Edward!” Stede exclaimed. “What the bloody hell is dunking? You’re– Edward, no!” But as Stede looked over and caught Ed’s grin, he knew it was too late,

On the other side of the display case was a man about his height, with his salt-and-pepper hair tied back into a neat half-ponytail and what had to be the biggest brown eyes that had ever existed. He was, Stede thought stupidly, the most beautiful person in the world, and he suddenly longed to hold him close, to dive into him and never come up for air. “Ah,” said Stede, the words barely able to leave his mouth. He was inexplicably lightheaded; he’d nearly forgotten how to breathe. “Pardon me.” “Oh,” said the man. “Fuck.”

Ed shifted as he came back to himself. He screwed his eyes shut tighter as he took a deep breath and felt the deep ache through his whole body. He steeled himself and forced his eyes open. He was greeted by a featureless darkening sky, flashing light scanning overhead, and then- “...Huh?” The noise left his lips involuntarily. “Hello?” A mop of blond curls and wide hazel eyes filled his vision as the stranger’s soft voice whispered. So that’s what angels look like, Ed thought as his eyes slid shut.

When Edward Teach woke up on a remote beach, the last thing he expected was to find a strange blond man who lives alone in a lighthouse shrouded in permanent fog. Stede shows Ed the life of a solitary lighthouse keeper, while Ed tries to unravel the mystery that is Stede Bonnet.
