Send Yellow for some headcanons about our muses.

Susanna is one of Abel’s dearest friends, and someone he would protect with his life. He feels unendingly sorry for all that’s happened to her, and feels quite bad for sitting idly by in Heaven whilst she suffered on Earth. He fully intends to make up for it now, however. 

They were the masters of ice cream dates while in Heaven; they loved all things sweet, all things deliciously unhealthy. Abel often mused about the two of them going down to Earth and opening an ice cream shop together, just for the fun of it, but they never got around to it. 

Abel doesn’t hate anyone, but if there’s one person who comes close to the realm of total, complete, hatred it’s Daniel. Simply for the fact that he abandoned her; Abel knows little of Daniel’s life, or that of their child, but no matter what he is determined to dislike him on Susanna’s behalf. 

In the theoretical wedding of Abel and Raphael, he’s totally claiming her as one of his angels-of-honor. 

When they get out of New Utopia, he wants desperately to take her to Disney; he hears she bears a striking resemblance to Cinderella.

Stella didn’t know what to say. What could she say, even? To this woman, this angel, who was so kind it rivaled Abel and yet had lost so much. If anyone deserved to not have the love of her life on the opposite side, it was Susanna. She had gotten the story in bits in pieces -- hushed pity and hurt from angels, cruel glee from demons. Daniel, fallen.

Stella wished against all logic that there was something she could do, anything. Something to fix it, something to make it hurt less. Something that she could tell Susanna, that would help. Something from her experience but she had no experience in love, in holding onto a person so tightly, even after they had changed, left.

So, instead, Stella found Susanna in the yard. She sat next to her, and took her hand. Then, slowly, she leaned into the other woman, gradually cradling her to her side. The sun beat down on them but there was a pleasant breeze every few minutes. Something to cut through the harshness. Something to ease the pain.

BRONZE: a wishlist of plots.

heaven help me: the lady in the woods, he thinks, could be much better suited to something other than dreary rags and heartsickness---it happens to the best of them and he wants to help her find something to ground her a bit. raphael would want her to be his protege, so to speak, learning the art of healing, for he always needs an extra hand or two during operations, and who better to come to other than gentle-handed susanna.

love bites, but so do i: oh susanna, how did love fuck you over so bad? raphael wonders the same, with daniel and his newly found raven wings, he thinks that she could need a pick me up, something that he could possibly do, possibly in the realm of alcohol to make you forget, to make you realize that he’s lost something as well, to lift those boulders that weigh you down.

YELLOW // headcanons 

Holly HATES when Susanna is sad, it is something that genuinely bothers her. Hence, she will try ( in her own little way ) to make the angel happy.

Holly automatically dislikes Daniel for hurting Susanna in such a way. Even if she doesn’t know their entire backstory, the girl tends to have a strong bias against demons anyways. This will only be another bullet point in her burn book. 

Holly can’t handle compliments from Susanna -- they feel too genuine, too foreign. Honestly, her brain shut downs because she can’t compute what’s happening and why and just -- SUSANNA sees so much good in the ballerina, it’s overwhelming. But it’s also something Holly keeps in the back of her mind ( like a prayer ). 

Susanna seems like such a romantic, and Holly ( despite the teenage angst ) still loves a good love story. So imagine this: binge watching chick-flicks together. It would the greatest night of joy and happy tears. Don’t forget all the candy and junk food involved. 

Board games, lots of board games. Sometimes with wine involved. 

Making flower crowns together and handing them out to people.

BRONZE // plot wish list 

GIVE ME THE DANIEL ANGST. Give Holly something to worry about -- something completely out of her control, something she can only watch from afar and hope it doesn’t burn the ice on the wounds. 

Get Susanna to experience the dark side of Holly, get her to see the ugliness underneath. Get her to witness the chaos ( even if she’s the last person that Holly wants to expose to this ). 

ALL THE CUTE MOMENTS. Holly has too much angst in her life, and Susanna is so sweet that Holly will literally do anything she wants. Want to build a blanket fort? Yeah, sure. Want to stargaze from across the fence? Definitely. Want a sketch of Daniel for personal keeping? Coming right up. 

SUSANNA + Gratitude 

There was something about sadness that didn’t compliment the blonde angel. It didn’t seem – seem right. Susanna was the ray of sunshine that broke past the clouds of darkness, and to see the sun so gloom could throw the entire universe off balance. Angels shouldn’t ever be sad, they didn’t deserve pain ( they were meant for heaven, meant for a lifetime of happiness ). And while the good and bad constantly battled inside the young ballerina, she could at least ease someone else’s pain ( even if words of comfort were foreign to her ). 

There had been whispers – rumors about a certain demon – a former flame. And while Holly didn’t want to ask, curiosity got the best of her. Apparently they had been lovers, the kind that Disney would write about. Happy, lively, everlasting.

But, were happy endings ever guaranteed – even after death? 

Holly couldn’t wrap her brain around how someone as kind as Susanna could love a beast? Or perhaps the fallen angel hadn’t known about the evil that lurked underneath, perhaps she fell in love with a facade. Or perhaps it was all his fault ( men and their lies ). Whatever the betrayal had been, Susanna was clearly in pain. And an angel should never have to bear heartbreak – it was too much for even humans to handle.

Holly had encountered enough pain in her lifetime to at least return the gratitude, return the kindness to make the angel happy ( for Susanna tried to put others above herself all the time ). Clearing her throat, Holly tried to catch the angel out of her thoughts, tried to provide a good distraction. 

In her small hands, the ballerina held a plate with a slice of chocolate pie – the best pie around town. The sweetness could kill even the bitterest of moods; and desserts were meant to be shared, right? Food was a saving grace, for no one could resist a good bite of chocolate. 

There was now a tightness in her chest, as if she could not breath deeply enough, as if she would never get the air she needed. There was a sense of doom, descending upon the room; the group of them brought down here early in the morning, for what purpose, none of them knew. It seemed a pattern had started though: they had taken Raphael first, and it had been like a thorn piercing through her heart. The pain only grew, twisting and driving its way more forcefully into her chest, when he was returned, bloody, unconscious, clearly tortured nearly an hour later. Magdalene had been next.

However, instead of more pain, though Junia was certainly devastated at the idea of Magdalene at the mercy of Alastair, determination now thrummed in her chest, every quick heartbeat seemingly pushing strength instead of blood through her veins. She would not sit in silence, waiting for each of them to be plucked off one by one, tormented and then thrown aside. Seeing Eve and Samson moving along the walls, Junia decided to search elsewhere, hope thrumming in her fingertips as she scooted along the floor, uncaring of getting dirty for her prison clothes were already coated with grime. 

Feeling a distinct click as her hand passed over a wooden panel, not visibly different than the rest that spanned the floor of this basement cell, Junia felt her eyes light up. She jammed her finger between the board and the one next to it, feeling a splinter under her nails but ignoring it for the possibility that this could lead to some form of chance out of here. Squeezing a few more fingers in between the boards, she managed to pry it partway up, her fingers straining with the effort, before it slipped through her clammy hands, landing back down with a smack. Flexing fingers that were now red and slightly bloody, Junia glanced behind her for anyone that may be able to help, her eyes landing on Susanna -- the one she looked to for nearly everything in this prison, and this time was no different.

Hastily scrambling from the floor, she approached the other angel. “Susanna,” she said with a sense of urgency vibrating over her skin. How long had it been since the demons had taken Magdalene? Would they be able to pry the floorboard loose in time? “I think I may have found something--” she indicated towards the floorboard, which now seemed just like any other. “A board lifts up, can you help me?”
